This is a great tournament with an amazing line up, but I am confused at the lack of communication. I mean, there is no way the people involved were unaware of MLG's tournament, it being mentioned all over reddit, so why not talk to the organisers of MLG? Surely in the interest of giving people as many good shows as possible someone could have contacted MLG?

Otherwise will probably have both streams open

Why not me instead, bro?

Haha just kidding. Again, one must know when to concede, and this is one of those times...

If you had actually read the tweets you would have seen that they planned the tournament and decided on the date when MLG had not announced their tournament yet.

I feel very bad with the schedule overlap with MLG, I had been waiting for them to bring back SC2 to their events for a long time. I had to lock down a date weeks ago and consulted the TL calendar very carefully, originally i wanted the tournament to take place on the weekend of the 18th and 19th but there is ogaming.tv's nationwar happening at the time so i moved it to 25-26th not knowing MLG's tournament was going to take place at the same time. Upon realizing that i seriously considered postponing but it's just not possible with IEM Sao Polo taking place the next weekend and the players i have invited all being informed of the schedule i had originally given them.

I think that with all the Starcraft II streams/tournaments there has been a lot of people have got used of following 2 tournaments/streams at the same time, not to mention both tournaments offering VODS for those who want to focus on 1 and catchup on the other later, i'm hoping people will find the motivation to watch both tournaments so they can each have the success they deserve !

Not meant to be dramatic. If you have watched my twitter this week you'll see that is the only way I can contact Catz. He does not look at skype until I harass him on twitter. This is a daily occurrence.

That is very, very problematic.

Because a guy doesn't use Skype that often/needs provocation to use it? Put the pitchforks down

When you don't respond to communication from your business partners, to a point where they have to contact you via twitter, where's it's out in the public. You don't have to be a business veteran to know that's not very professional.

And pitchforks? It's simply an observation, but it wouldn't be bad if we started to expect a minimum level of professionalism from some of the community figures.

I have read the tweets. Its been a few days since MLG announced the tournament. Surely the polite thing to do once you see the events will be overlapping would be sending a message letting them know, instead of leaving it the better part of the week and then blindsiding them with the annoucement.

So the only calendar you looked at was the one on TL? .........

That doesn't seem like a good idea. Why didn't you contact Blizzard or other tournament organizers to make sure something like this didn't happen?

Tod I'm not pissed but you have Destiny and Catz on Skype, you could have given us the heads up after you saw that we announced. We spoke to Blizzard before hand, got a calendar of events, checked TL, and there was nothing.

In any case, good luck with the event.

You're right, i should have but i wasn't sure about the times you will be broadcasting at with the timezone difference, i have been spending all my time putting this tournament together and the rest of the time i tried to ladder as much as possible aswell as prepare myself for the upcoming tournaments i will have to cast.

Destiny tells me our times wont clash much anyway so hopefully all goes well

How do we create crossover?

How about a winners match on Sunday? Our Winner vs your Winner I'll put up $500 as a pot bonus if we can do it on MLG.tv

Suffice to say, I will have to forego this tournament as I will be watching MLG. I think the lesson here for ToD is that the TL calendar alone isn't enough when scheduling major events.

Best of luck to the players!
