Have to say this, but JD also got the shortest break between the Maru games and the finals. Having to play 4 intense games like that, then switch gears into a different match up just doesn't happen. It seemed unfair to me considering sOs got at least a 1/2 hour to decompress. Anyway...

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=435099 zerg was on the right and protoss on the left I guess it's relative to the way sOs is holding it

![]() But JD was biggest thing for me, I was so happy and angry at same time to see Plexa bitchin about boring games (JD vs Maru - all of the games were epic and only hater or someone who knows nothing can bitchin about them) because average user would be banned for caps lock and so much whining without any reason. And after his bitchin about short games and maru's victory JD won in macro game, epic. He is most consistant player of the year. Whole tournament was great, best in 2013. gg go re in 2014. ![]()

As a side note, I am sure JD would beat sOs if it were semis ![]()

I dont know if thats a bug, but it does shows that JD didnt prepare enough (at least in that map), which its a shame considering how many protoss were in th tournament i would expect a cannon rush or 2, and not to mention that the biggest problem was sOs traping those 2 drones, if no drones were lost i doubt sOs would had the advantage he had

Can someone pm it to me if its not too inconvenient? sorry, didn't catch the shows live but want to watch without spoilers so don't want to read through the pages and find out who won which matches. Couldn't miss finding out who won the whole damn thing but don't want to know the outcome of every match before I watch it. Blizzcon websites only seems to have some vods and missing others. And they actually list all the match player names so it kinda spoils the outcome as well. ![]() Thanks! The Twitch streams are linked in the OP, and you can watch the whole stream there - at least you could yesterday.

I had to move furniture on Sunday (funnnnnn) so I missed the grand final - just finished the vods. Wow! I gotta say, after watching JD's run through the tourney I was expecting him to win in a tense series, but he got outplayed. I couldnt believe it. To be honest, it felt like SoS had planned his whole grand strategy very effectively and he successfully took the initiative away from JD in all the games. JD's scouting seemed to go a bit wonky at times, and SoS's focus on masking his builds was reeeally smart. It seems like JD is one of those competitors for whom initiative and 'being on the front foot' is very important. SoS's play forced some uncharacteristic floundering from JD at times, and by game 5 I think JD was well and truly beaten mentally. His last engagement was very ugly... Almost as ugly as this thread! Lots of hate. Anyway I gotta say that was the slickest tourney I have seen all year - I didnt think any tourney would match the last dreamhack in terms of organisation, production and momentum. Freaking awesome sets of games too, my fav's were JD vs Dear (Dear was my tip to win), Soulkey vs Bomber, MMA vs Bomber, SoS vs. Polt and dat GF. Actually I really liked watching Polt the whole tourney and was sensing a bit of dark horse in him at one point... alas. Great tourney! Ah, haven't felt this good watching sc2 since 2011! *edit - also SoS the hindu cowtoss. So calm. So collected. So content. No one eats his meat at the tourney.

Lots of hate. JD has been famous for coming back after losses for years. So much that LWW (loss win win) has become somewhat of a meme in his context. So no- he's definitively not a player that is put of by being behind, quite the contrary. There may be many reasons for his loss, but mentality is highly unlikely to be one of them.
