If you are going to travel to other countries you should at least learn to communicate with others. But hey that just my opinion man. Yeah, if you live in another country yes. If you travel there for 3-4 days a year no, lol, why on earth would you do that when you don't even go there a lot? Must be a massive bother having to bring a translator everywhere though, just for simple stuff like ordering food. There are really no disadvantages to learning several languages You say it like learning another language is easy for most people. He does have a point though. Language education is pretty shitty and embarrassing in the US. Most people only know English as opposed to EU where it is not uncommon to be Trilingual.

I doubt it's easy in general... but definitely worth the effort.

How do you think StarDust got so many fans in one weekend?
Why do I give a fuck about Stardust?

Counter example of good long macro game that involved naniwa. Or at least hilarious one.

Well easy is probably not the word I would use, but everyone can do it. You know in Europe learning other languages isn't optional. Okay for the french maybe it is, but not for everyone else.

Ehm, a ton of Koreans are quite obviously learning more and more english the more tournaments they go to. Just look at Life who is tweeting in (bad) english now, or Stardust, or Leenock's improvements.

There was once a man who said Life was a shitter.
This man no longer "is".

TT If you do public performances in front of tens thousands of Chinese people who do not speak English every time you go there, you vacate there 5-6 times a year and your professional career is closely tied to how Chinese people perceive your performances; then I wouldn't consider it a bad idea to learn some basic Chinese, especially if you already had the very basics from school (though I wouldn't blame you for not learning it either). Interesting fact, the Chinese don't let whitey speak Chinese on TV their unless it is superb. Almost every non Chinese person featured in media, even if they could speak chinese will be dubbed.

EDIT: actually, what they said was Protoss can beat better players but can also lose to worse players
