He has a very entertaining playstyle imo. One of those players that win engagements one wouldn't think is possible, some sick miro plays.
A great example is his hold vs Effort:
i understand casters are just trying to hype the game and i assume thats what it is. like halfway through the video khaldor says "effort was in the greatest position but omg maru's defense omg!!"
i was thinking whaT? at the start of the video i see a 2base zerg 7 food ahead of a 2base terran, then he attacks into a super defensive position .... of course i expect the terran to hold that heh...
i know its fun to watch and all lol. but ive seen way better insane defenses than that
2 base terran that got tanks out long after holding the all-in as he went 3 OC (not sure about e-bays) against roach bane all-in. And we are talking WoL here. Just to understand how good this hold was: marauder with 18 kills.
Maru is actually an exciting player to watch, it's just that people root against him because he plays vs fan favorites like Rain, Flash and Innovation and takes risks that pay off("how unfair, the game is broken, too volatile!" etc.), but I think his play is a lot of fun once you both root for him and he also wins. It would be cool if he really solidified himself as a top tier terran.

If you honestly think that defense was anything less than extraordinary, I'm going to have to ask you to go ahead and uninstall Starcraft and set your computer on fire.

As far as I'm concerned, he's already solidified himself into a top-tier terran. Kinda goes with winning a GSL. And I say this as a Prime anti-fan.

The guy gave me the funniest hour of SC2 in ages when he faced Innovation in the OSL.
I don't know how people calling themselves SC2 fans can root against Flash. He always bring so much viewership and storyline just by being Flash. The amount of blasphemy in this thread is disgusting. If TL gives preferential treatment to long time TL member then they should give preferential treatment to Flash as well, players like him are the reason communities like this exist. Even a small about of Flash bashing/baiting should result in a ban IMO.

uh, i don't think you understand how being a fan or anti-fan works

A ban for bashing Flash? That kind of favoritism is a bit of a slippery slope don't you think?
Good job by Parting, its nice to see SKT players doing well in individual leagues. Too bad he didn't advance in second place, I really want to see a rematch between him an Jjakji.

iirc there used to be a no bashing boxer rule and people got banned for it

I've rooted against Flash forever. I've always hated his playstyle. Give me Fantasy or Leta any day.
All of these went to 3 games. Must have been exciting, but I don't have time to watch. I'm sure the great ones will end up in this "this week in Starcraft" thread.

Hmmm can't say I agree with it. I think there should either be a no player bashing rule or because we're more reasonable, freedom to say what you want about players (within some limits)
