I've seen a few people call Rain consistent and the truth of the matter is he's been anything but in PL. I remember a guy making a thread about asking for stats on Ace Matches and who's played in the most due or die situations. Rain is one of the most sent out guys but his record is anything but good in the clutch matches. They sent him out so many times when it was all on the line, but his record was terrible and the last couple of rounds in PL he did pretty miserable, but if there is one thing consistent about Rain it's his lack of production when it comes to those due or die situations. It wasn't even 50%. -_- I don't see how that qualifies as consistent and he just managed to get out of his last group. It's not pretty, but he'll take it.
He is 37-22 in PL

Then again, it'll be really awkward to see Prime win the OSL when 2 months ago people were saying that the team was sure to disband.

that wouldn't be awkward, it would be just showing people that they have no idea what they are talking about

Not even remotely at the level of Protoss though.

Sure it would. "I told you guys Prime was going to disband! Just look at their results...oh"

Go go Maru. You are the hope of Prime. No pressure. He would become Optimus Prime.

Imagine if LG-IM did that? It would be super confusing.

I guess it could have been blanked like when Polt left Prime in Seed's case

As far as Mvp goes, it depends. Does Maru become Optimus if he wins WCS KR or does he need to win WCS S2? If you say WCS KR is enough, do you count WCS EU as the equivalent?

After much internal debate, I have decided to cheer for Rain.
After Mvp lost last night, and Woongjin during the weekend, I don't think I can take any more SC2 related heartache in August. So I'm going to go with the 'safe' bet and cheer for Rain.

That doesn't change anything I said. In due or die situations he is actually 7-9. That's 39% win rate when its on the line last season. One of the many reasons I was kind of surprised that he was awarded the MVP for Protoss especially after rounds 5 and 6. Then we all know what happened in the playoffs. The real reason he won is because he had the most wins and that goes back to what I said about being sent out the most (he played more than any other Protoss player) and having good runs during the Winners League format. If I were voting I'd lean more towards sHy considering he led the league with JangBi in most clutch performances via winrate (fyi JangBi and sHy had stupid winrates in the clutch-- I couldn't believe it myself when I looked it up because it sort of flew right over my head but my God those numbers don't lie). It's a shame Woongjin didn't use him more. That's what happens when you have a lot of strong players on your team and you can use them in various situations. You don't get sent out often enough or else he would have had more opportunities to prove he deserved the MVP award over Rain.

My bad I thought it was 18 for a second lol. Anyway it's still below 50% and that by no means is a good number for a player of Rain's caliber. I found those results shocking myself. Round 5 and 6 really didn't go his way.

He had a really bad last month in Proleague, before that he had the best winrate from the players with 30+ wins. That's one bad month from 8(a really bad month, I agree).
And keep in mind that he was always sent last for SKT, compared to Flash and Innovation who where often sent in the beginning so they could sometimes get those all kills easier.
