Match order was changed to Shine vs MKP, TRUE vs Squirtle, RorO vs Dream, then Life vs jjakji because Life was busy with a LoL match. I will not be reordering the OP because it's a pain in the ass and won't matter in the end. This is just for people who come in mid broadcast and think the OP isnt updated because Life vs jjakji doesnt have a score yet + Show Spoiler +
the LoL part isn't real I have no idea why the matches were reordered
MarineKing will face Bbyong for Code S! Life will face 3rd place OSL Ro16 Group C for Code S! Dream will face 4th place OSL Ro16 Group C for Code S! TRUE will face KeeN for Code S! Flying will face PartinG for Code S!

yeah his games vs Mamuri weren't particularly impressive either. Shine is favored here imo
Well, Aligulac says otherwise.
There are a couple of reasons I'll say why I think Aligulac would say otherwise. 1. Marineking is on a general down trend and hasnt stabilized in his TvZ rating. He has fallen from the 3rd highest rating all time in the database. also, since it takes into account all 3 matchups, he can pull his tvz rating up a little bit with his overall average because he is still winning against T and P. 2. Kespa players came into the rating system later than other players. Because of this they started at a lower overall rating of about 1200. Because the kespa players play a majority of their games in proleague (against other 1200 starting level players) their rating did not change a lot quickly. 3. Shine has a terrible record in proleague. Every time he loses in proleague, he is pretty much losing to a player with a much lower rating than is probably accurate because of point #2 (unless that player has played enough games against players with established ratings to give a more accurate rating) 4. Shine seems to perform a hell of a lot better in GSL/OSL than he does in proleague
Sure I want Marineking to win and Aligulac could be write, but I think there are a couple of things not accounted for in this case.

jjakji looked pretty bad against violet the other day while Life has still been able to beat players like Supernova recently. Shouldn't need too much faith for Life to win most likely although personally I'm hoping jjakji pulls it off.
Holy shit, these matchups. 3 GSL champions (2 of them vsing each other), MKP, and Squirtle? And no mirror matchups? And starting at a reasonable time for me (pacific time 9pm)?? This is amazing.

The Injustice League holds themselves to a higher standard of upsetting people with inexplicable cheese in game (or in Sniper's case making a girl cry). Only the most skill less of villains need out of game BM to achieve villian status.
Sniper is the OG of ruining fun, there can be no leader except for him Nobody there made a girl cry AND piss on the funeral of a boxer team AND ruined what was supposed to be the best day for a player long bullied by his team all in 5 matches.

Poor decision for Shine to not attack up the ramp or even send a single Zergling. If he didn't spend time attacking the CC he would likely have won and not been in the compromised situation he is in currently.

Wow really. I saw the start of game 1 didn't MKP have a huge lead in g1 with the extra CC?
the 10 pool did enough damage to either be even or have Shine ahead. From there Shine's creep spread and counter attacks won him the game as MKP opted for a base trade.

I am actually pretty impressed by Shine's creep spread for a player of his reputation
Marineking's play is definitely looking better than it did vs BBoongBBoong and Mamuri. Glad he's gonna win even though Shine pretty much should have won it in the beginning with the ling runby if he had blocked the wall :D

Yeah he just beat MMA 2-0 the other day in IEM so I'm hoping that's a sign that his TvT is still going ok. Should be good with the return to WoL style since he was still one of the better TvTers at the end of WoL
Let's be debbie downer for a second, marineking should have lost that if it wasn't for that whatever the hell it was decision to attack an unfinished CC instead of running up the ramp with the ling counter attack. Still good play by MKP.

It had nothing to do with luck. He had an overlord in his base, saw everything, and decided not to go up.

It's possible now that I think about it he was going to retire until jin air sponsored T8 and he changed his mind, major was already gone so he couldn't correct himself when he announced it.
So TRUE didn't retire after all? When I saw he played his match vs JYP I assumed he was just playing out his games in WCS without a team to see what happens

Happy to see him back if he stays. True has one of the most exciting Zerg styles of any player out right now.
New theory: TRUE has retired, but in a moment of yolo agreed to play out the matches, he is now seeing how far he can go by just massing lings against everyone (Which appears to be working).
I think the kespa map makers weren´t around for Blistering Sands to know these unblockable back doors are actually a horrible idea. I suppose it´s a phase they´re going through. Hopefully they´ll never go goth.
was there some sort of agreement under all the players that they want this map gone so they decided Zerg will win everytime ? But wow 2 stalkers rounds was a crazy decision.

Nothing, but kespa doesn't care about making balanced sc2 maps because their focus is pro league. Teams can just choose not to put a race out on an unbalanced map. Doesn't work so well in individual leagues though.

Pretty sure Tastetosis actually enjoys WoT because they stream themselves playing it fairly often.

Game is actually quite fun to play.
Not very fun to watch IMO.
Sort of like League :/
I can't watch that at all x.X

I really have no idea, to this day how league has so many viewers. I watch a few games to gain some tips and tidbits and it feels like a chore to just sit through one game. you aren't learning much like you would do watching a sc2 match at all

Has to do with the streams and fan base I think :p
If RorO had taken a fifth earlier, his situation wouldn't be so dire cause he could afford to be less efficient, but being stuck on low economy will end him.

Na, it was over because of dream's economic lead in the midgame, roro actually got ultralisks pretty slow. Muta/ling/bane stops being effective once terran gets 3-3.

I'm certain many Korean SC2 pros have played or tried LoL at this point. It is a mere hobby for many and probably a sampling of current Korean eSports culture, so why not, its not like anyone is switching to LoL.

That and most teams have a LoL team as well, I'm sure both genres dabble with the other for fun
What I noticed from RorO's games so far, he is struggling against Widow Mines the most. It really damages his efficiency and contributes to his heavy supply deficits.

I like how dream uses marine widow mine drops instead of only marines, but roro is quiet good at dodging mine shots and leading them into marines, but dreams widow mine control is on par with that.
I hope Dream doesn´t disappear now like he did after smashing Rain. The people need a hero, and preferably one not named hero, because there are already plenty.
Time to replace RorO as top three current Zerg? I remember Apollo and Kaelaris debating over top three Zergs and it went Soulkey, Life and RorO. After seeing this series, it would be safe to place HyuN as third in my mind.

don't need Infestors if you upgrade and maintain your Muta cloud, as they kill everything that gets chased down by the Ultras, just have to pull back for a second if the Mutas got hit by a mine, to outheal it. Main issue with defining top three Protoss is how rarely they win a tournament, so deciding a very certain top Protoss list is difficult. Secondly they tend do fare poorly in the Ro8 stage, often dropping out in the Ro16, so you don't see them succeed as much as their Zerg or Terran counterparts, leading to more debate over who is the better Ro16 player.

IMO Hyun isn't a good candidate either, maybe if you look at short-term performance, but in the long run I can hardly imagine him doing something big. He plays a lot, wins a lot but also loses a fair amount even against mediocre opponents. But most importantly he doesn't seem to have flair, which hinders his ability to reach great heights. He looks good against decent opponents but has never looked really threatening against the cream of the crop.

Have to disagree, HyuN has been playing very consistently against the cream of the crop recently. He performed solidly in MLG and narrowly lost to Polt, defeated LucifroN in the RSL Ro8 and fared well against some of the best Koreans in the IEM Shanghai Korean qualifiers. Occasionally he loses in an upset, but these are almost always in the early rounds of online tournaments or in ATC where Quantic is basically eliminated.

I disagree with Life and Roro being in there. It's Soulkey, Symbol and Soo.
I didnt set the top 3. talk to WCS EU casters D:
Ah well, WCS EU casters all thought Mvp was done and wouldn't do anything so no point in convincing them of anything.
when did they say that?
I assume during the IEM Shanghai Korean qualifiers.
Nah, it was before Mvp made his first WCS EU run. Said he looked weak in his group stage matches. Also funnily, Bitter predicted Mvp would drop out of WCS World in groups.
mr.bitter doesn't know anything about starcraft, never has.
no score was updated for it yet so I guess they means they delayed it til the end of the show Flying vs Dear unbroadcasted Code A match should be taking place now. Winner faces PartinG for Code S

He says "I don't know kev" for a reason mang.
he used to be a good analytical for zergs if you could see past the bias. If you remember he first got famous taking lessons and shit from all the old pros (who are jokes now, but were competitive then)

Hyun > sOo
Why do people seem to dont like neither soO or hyvaa ? They are finally seeing some result in starcraft 2, is it because the other guys are too popular ? They haven't been playing perfect, but hey, they are playing in the hardest league in the world, they can't beat everyone, i dont get why there is so little credit to their improvement.
Frankly (and this is definitely my bias shining through) but neither of them are top 3 zerg because they are incomplete players. hyvaa's mid-lategame is extremely lacking and soO doesn't dominate the lower competition enough.
I don't think Hyun is a top 3 zerg. I don't think there is a top 3 to be argued besides Soulkey being the best. Zerg players are going through the classic period of instability during the beginning of a new SC game. It takes a long time for them to figure out how to discern and react appropriately to the new meta.

Right, Hyun is not only in great shape, but also fairly stilistic with his viper usage e.g. The reason he doesn´t get as much attention is because he doesn´t play in proleague four times a week.

But that's exactly the point. He does well and does it often, but he also plays a lot. Sure he can perform on an even footing with Code-S class players (he was/is Code-S class after all), but he's never stood out as the zerg to watch out for. Like Life, Leenock, DRG, Soulkey, Nestea, Stephano - even Losira to some extent - each had their own time. His best period was probably around IPL5 when he went up against Sniper, but that season was wacky from the get-go and a lot of his hype came from the IPL Fight Clubs which was really like "oh cool this guy has had an insane run, let's hope he caps it with a big win" than "how can you even beat him when he's on".
My point is that despite his good records and competitive skill, he's never had the scary aura that other top zergs had. Maybe it's just that the stars didn't align for him or it's the way his playstyle looks, maybe he's really lacking something. TBH I don't watch enough of him (and of SC2 in general) to know, but it's the impression on a casual fan like me. Though to be honest none of the zerg stars look good at the moment except for Soulkey, so he might just make the list because of it.
MarineKing actually looked a lot better this time. He had some static defenses up even before he was attacked (!), he tried some drops (!!), and game 3 looked actually pretty close to what Innovation does in that matchup, although Shine isn't exactly a tip-top Zerg. Is he starting to evolve!?

Is this because of GSL November 2011?
Partly, but it's more than he became irrelevant right after he did it. Like if you are going to beat Leenock in a Code S final at least be good. I don't mind Leenock losing the MLG finals because Life is actually really good and has done more than just that MLG. I hate Jjakji because he was a one-hit wonder when Leenock had his big chance on winning on Korean soil which pretty much is every Koreans dream. And now Jjakji has been irrelevant for so long he should just stay irrelevant forever, fuck that guy.
I still believe that Leenock one day will be a GSL / OSL champion. It just could have happened so much earlier.

This is kind of a silly reason to hate on a player, especially because he actually only really became irrelevant after the patch that destroyed MKP (just after winning 2-3 MLGs against a solid DRG) as well . The season before he lost a few TvTs, that was never his strong suit and some PvP against very hard protosses, but at the time he had one sick TvZ style and was actually playing better than Leenock during these finals. And I'm sure that if he hadn't played his RO24 code A one day after the patch he would have beaten Symbol and everything would have been different.
Like you can blame any terran for being irrelevant during the rest of 2012 when only one terran at a time was capable to go "far" in GSL every season.

Yes he was playing better than Leenock during the finals. As I said he was a one-hit wonder. He played really good one season and then he's been shit all other times.
Difference in being irrelevant and not going far. There were a lot of terrans who managed to stay Code S, even Code A, which makes them relevant. People talked about them. no one ever said anything about Jjakji. Don't have to win a GSL to stay relevant. Bomber, Ryung, MKP, Taeja, ByuN, Maru, Polt, Gumiho are just some of the terrans who stayed relevant during 2012.
"This is kind of a silly reason to hate on a player" Except for Drama-queens, tell me one better reason to hate a player? He crushed my (by far) favourite player's dream and then dropped out of the scene. Not because he wanted, but because he played like shit. If Leenock lost to players like Life, Mvp, DRG, Taeja, Bomber, PartinG etc he could think "At least I lost to someone who is really good at Starcraft." Because they all stayed relevant. Yeah, they have all had their slumps but at least they have been relevant for most of the time. But now he lost to someone who actually is not very good at all and had 1 dream run.
I think we can both agree, that Leenock has proven himself to be the better SC2 player.
And I think we can both agree that Jjakji is the most irrelevant Code S champion of all time.
So once again, tell me one better reason to hate a player?

Yeah this is pretty much it - but that is with all the drama in SlayerS. Also he is still a huge fan favourite and thus still relevant in the scene.
