I like how this thread is a history lesson on starcraft 2, the great derailing of 2013.

In the same conditions, Mvp, MMA, DongRaeGu, sC, MarineKing and probably MC would also have won without a hitch. But they didn't get the luckiest of brackets.
Bomber probably would have too, but he became the greatest choker instead.

you can't say "Nestea wasn't good 2 years ago because many people are better now". that doesn't make sense.

Mid-2011, GSL July. 3rd GSL. Perfect Season. Definitely not the best Zerg.
Also, you fall into the trap of comparing different eras, which people don't do in competitions.

That's still a bunch of players who would have done it.
And maybe others that don't come to mind immediately, maybe others who never got a chance to get to Code S because of the absurdly bad system involved in transferring players between A and S... the same system that allowed terrible players to remain in if they won a single set.

I'm talking about May through winter here.
And again, perfect season isn't so perfect when most of your opponents are absolutely terrible.

I know bomber probably would've achieved at least one GSL win in WoL if he didn't choke. Many people have had miracle runs. Who the fuck predicted that forGG would suddenly crush flash and JD to take his MSL? NO one predicted Bisu to win vs Savior. That does not mean that they are not skilled.
Edit: I mean that people probably thought that was bracket luck for savior or flash etc.
