Thats the problem, every time a protoss players army enters the opponents half of the map it is considered a "timing" and is borderline all-in. It's hard to put on small pressures without being cost ineffective as protoss, since the higher tech units are to slow to save.

You can retreat back TO the Mothership Core. Sure you still lose some units but it's a huge difference retreating back to a Recall point than having to retreat all the way back to your base on foot.

But you could admit that the MSC, by being slow, kinda squishy and usually separated from you army makes it a fragile unit.

I don't say it is unfair, but adding the fact that the protoss army is relatively slow, it makes sense to say that poking with your whole army is close to being an allin, and that the MSC is not enough to guarantee a retreat to the protoss. Now I know the match-up is as it is, but you can't always blame a protoss player for losing too much and not do enough damage with his army.

Oh I acknowledge that it is a slow and fragile unit but that's exactly why I'm suggesting that people that have no intention of using Time Warp should keep it behind the army as a fall back point so that if the attack goes poorly there's a way out.

The Mothership core is by design meant to be a micro intensive unit and so far I don't think Protoss players even at the top level have mastered everything it's capable of. This is just one example of that.

Isn't it pretty okay throwing away colossi against tempests? All it takes is a remax/resupply of stalkers to slay all the tempests.


It didn't look favorable at the time because Squirtle was only left with stalker/zealot while Yonghwa had like 3 Immortals alive and like 3 tempests. I didn't expect Yonghwa to decide on attacking right away, was kinda bizarre.


Maybe Yongwha just underestimated how much of a bank Squirtle had to warp in units after Yongwha defeated his main army.
