it was a little less than 50% zerg players at the start, and now it's 50%. do you really think zerg is UP based on those stats?

if one race struggled this dreamhack, it's protoss, but that can be accounted to the relative low count of high level protoss players.

You misunderstand my statements and in the end we agree on the same conclusion: if there is one race to complain it's obviously protoss.
What I meant is that there is no surprise to see a bit more zergs considering the number of them in the beginining. Their percentage has actually almost not changed through the rounds, while T ratio increased more :
begining: P= 29.7%, T= 21.1%, Z= 48.4%
RO8: P= 12.5%, T= 37.5%, Z= 50%

Within a single tournament you can actually track the reason for each and every loss.
Ro128 and Ro64 went pretty well for the toss and they entered Ro32 with 10 players (perfect!).
Here they lost 6 of them instead of 5...
1. Bischu eliminated by Harstem & TLO
2. Elfi eliminated by Tefel
3. ViPro eliminated by Sjow
4. Mana eliminated by Dayshi
5. Pandatank thrown into 3 strong Koreans (Jaedong, Gumiho and Sting)
6. Starnan falling to Life and Tod.

One player overperforming here ruined your perfect 50% run and that player is... Sjow. Seriously, he's playing way better than expected.

Now for Ro16:
1. TLO beats Squirtle (upset)
2. Taeja beats ToD (I guess that was expected, ToD had a great run anyways)
3. Sjow beats Harstem (upset)
(4). Stardust beats viOLet (upset the other way).
Damn, that Sjow again. He single-handedly ruined the balance in both ro32 and ro16.

Ro8 for all hots tournaments is now @ 64. Perfect split is 22-21-21. Actual is 22-22-20. So imba

yeah, we can make all excuses we want for protoss going from 38 in Ro128 ----> 1 in Ro8.

This is the first premier HotS tournament where toss went down to 1 player in ro8. This has happened both to T and Z before. There is no reason to panic.

Also, 8 players is a really small sample and a 4-3-1 split is just a single shift away from the optimal 3-3-2.

sure. they might become a lot better than they are now, but they will not completely dominate the whole scene. they are too old and too far behind the curve now. i gotta say i don't understand why Flash even has as much success as he has been having despite his decison making though. i guess mechanics rule everything.

Flashs mechanics are not outstanding, as pointed out by many people over time.

actually i saw today Flashs Win/loss Ratio in Proleague - he is number one there.
I think no one will every dominate SC2 ever. The game is just too volatile and there is not enough time.
there are a lot of balance patches - and just when the game is balanced enough there is a new addon with new units.
