Don't think i've ever seen any other team have to play each other in openers like this with such frequency. I've seen it happen to TL quite a bit too. I think it is a result of EG (and liquid) always having multiple players in the final bracket whereas korean teams only send 1 player to the tourny so they can't get any teamkills.

So usually when a commentator points out that a player is doing something silly Tod is usually quick to correct them, "No, there's actually something very smart going on, high level mind games, etc." So has Tod commented on what his strategy was? Looks like his goal was to slowly suffocate Stephano. If the swarmhosts moves in one direction Tod takes out a base, or tries to capitalize on the swarm hosts being out of position. Maybe he's played against Stephano on ladder and finds that he just flat out loses when he tries to use collosus against that composition? He said he went for that style because viper makes colo useless.

He basically said that he knew that he was up so many bases that he could afford to use that composition against Stephano and win no matter what. He thought if he switched to Colossus then Stephano might have been able to come back with good Abducts.

So cool to see ToD and Dayshi on top in offline tourneys, now France has one contender for each race. Funny to see TaeJa qualify after the mule debacle. Gotta qualify before tweeting too fast elfi!

When he didn't make a robo bay or even stargates to supplement his army that's actually all I could think of... That whenever he does in practice they just don't hold up against roach/hydra/abduct. I hope ToD does well tomorrow, he's the only foreigner protoss (possibly even protoss) player I've rewinded the VODs for. The guy is too smart and likeable to ignore.
