I can't remember the last time I haven't been disappointed by one such match, and before you say it, Innovation vs Soulkey was absolutely terrible series.

The GSL finals in the past two years:

jjakji/Leenock 4-2
MMA/DRG 4-3
DRG/Genius 4-2
Squirtle/Mvp 4-3
Seed/MC - 4-1
Life/Mvp 4-3
Sniper/Hyun 4-3
Symbol/Roro 4-2
Soulkey/Innovation 4-3

I don't think people even watch GSL finals anymore and pretend like they're all one-sided stomps. GSL has consistently had - BY FAR - the best finals of any SC2 tournament for the past two years.

I also don't agree that Soulkey/Innovation was a terrible series. I think it was a great series, but terrible games. I think the two are different.

I liked the games a lot although thats because I love filthy allins.

And yeah there is just really nothing like watching a full Bo7 GSL series. Even the ones that everyone says sucked (i.e. Seed vs MC, Sniper vs Hyun) had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I don't care if it s a stomp, because when I was watching it there was always the possibility that it wouldn't be. And in a sense I always get to watch SC2 history being made :D

Sniper vs. Hyun was great.

Roro/Symbol was bleh, and Seed/MC was awful.

People that say Sniper vs HyuN sucked probably didn't watch it and are just like OH ZVZ MUST HAVE SUCKED. Game 7 was a pretty good ending to the series. It was nowhere near the level of Seed vs MC in bad.

I don't know why everyone hated Seed vs MC so much. That was one of my favorite matches as a whole last year because it was really so interesting to watch MC mentally crumble vs the fast paced strategies of seed. I still think that his 4 gate proxy robo build was an awesome choice to demoralize his opponent, and having the balls to pull it out 2 games in a row against someone considered to be far ahead of him in PvP was pretty cool as well.

I think the most interesting part of the series was where MC just completely failed to hold the blink stalker attack in G3. There are obviously a few different factors that could explain it, but based on how he looked after the first 2 games I would say he was 100% psyched out at that point.

Yeah it was over quickly, and yeah Seed didn't exactly go on to do much else, but the match itself was really cool imo.

In a way its pretty cool that all Ro8 games are mirrors. That way it's certain that we will get a TvX in the finals. On top of that, the players get to really showcase that given the same pieces, they are better at controlling their respective race than their opponent.

I never got to see some of the games from yesterday. Im only watching to see innovation and soulkey smash some face. I generally root for the best koreans just because everyone seems to always root against them so in a way the koreans are kind of the reverse underdogs since more foreigners root against them

The problem is all the mirrors are just coin flippy or boring to watch. I used to love TvT such a positional strategic game with tank/marine where map control using tank lines was so important, but drops and hellbats just makes it luck/stupid
