Obviously not true in case of MVP, and in case of ForGG, Violet got good outside of korea, who's to say ForGG can't do the same.

To bee honest they didn't faced really that good opposition. They can win a game or two sometimes but not a championship. They can't even qualify for Code S Korea...or even worse for Code A... They didn't face that good opposition hm...So forgg beat HerO WCS AM champ and sOs code s semifinalist i see.. not even code a right.Mvp beat kangho hmmm 5th/6th place code S.this is the last comment i will make now if you want to continue this argument pm or smth

ps: lol at the dude behind forgg
I snapped a small video of the 2nd time he started making faces, but the first time was by far the most hilarious. It was so bad that after the 2nd time they had to do an extreme closeup of forgg's face to cut the guy outta the picture.

People always discount code B Koreans. Plenty of code B players can win against several code S players when they are hot. Also, MVP and ForGG are not just any average code B players.
That's why this WCS format is terrible, different groups of Koreans went through completely different levels of competition to reach season finals. Risk-award ratios are too unbalanced.

Nerfing terran when Zergs keep winning tournaments? Especially since Terran is being figured out and it's harder for players not Innovation or Flash to do well? Terran already has the least players out of any race in the next OSL, they're not going to nerf anything for one tournament result. The only people who can't beat Terran are foreigners. Right now it is basically Roach bust or die. Even if Zerg is winning half of there matches this isn't really great for the game. Its like ZvP in WOL all over again forcing players into roles before the game even starts. A small change here and there could improve this imo. Maybe make mech and Roach/Hydra more viable? Roach bust or die TO INNOVATION. Zerg plays macro fine against any other terran. You are going a little overboard here. Nah, every successful Zerg used tons of all ins vs Terran in the last GSL. Soulkey, Losira and Symbol all inned almost every game vs Bomber, Innovation and Gumiho. Revival reached the WCS AM finals by all inning a Terran multiple games in a row. Stephano attempted multiple all ins in his final vs Mvp. Life has done ling/bane all ins in almost every successful match vs Terran so far in HOTS. Soulkey even all inned vs Alive despite being a far better player. I am sure there are many more examples but I can;t think of them at the moment.
Maybe because it worked so well? (very small margin of errors terran). Yugioh beat Gumiho convincingly in U&D macro game, and it is hard to argue that Yugioh is consistently better. Also Losira beat Mvp when he went for bio mine. Not all terrans have Innovation & Flash executions. There should be more, considering so many terrans lost to zergs U&D and code A but I didn't watch most of the matches.

So, finally is there any way to see the matches again? Link? Vods??? Replays?
|
I'm confused, why does people seem to believe that GSL somehow turned into WCS, while it rather turned into WCS Korea? It makes no sense why a GOM TV subscription would give you all the WCS VOD's for free.
The fact that you have to pay for WCS VOD's at all should be criticized though, but that's blizzard's fault I guess.
|
If blizzard is trying to grow esports to casual players I can say hiding or charging money for vods is never going to help with that. There new main wcs battle net page should have all the games by match that would be perfect. The hours for this are bad for most normal people so obviously no one can see any of it without the video.

Is there any way to choose what to see in the twitch subscription(5$)? Is only the rebroadcasts? Cant you stop and check it later???

Will there be VODS up at any point?

So what you're saying is Terran is being too greedy?... Who'd of thought thats why they have an advantage in macro games if they open so greedily and DONT get punished... It's like zerg going 3 hatch before pool or something silly. Can't really complain about it..

I thought this whole wcs finals thing was going to be free and I thought they said vods too but it doesnt seem to be the case.

Yeah, but the organizations running the WCS don't want to hope for some growth in SC2 viewership in the long term. They want (maybe need?) that short term revenue.
I think having a paywall for VODs is a bad idea, but it's important to remember they aren't doing this because they want to fuck you over, but because they think this is the best move for them financially. I still hope that Blizzard will reconsider this move though.
I also wonder if the fact that ESL and MLG can put out free VODs is going to put increasing pressure on the Korean tournaments. Those tournaments aren't cheap to produce, and they might actually need the money. Who knows?

Man, I hoped TLO or Steph could take just one game off those guys, just for honor you know T_T;

Is lying to people by telling them its going to be free and then not doing it though the best way to go about it? If they said its going to cost you money I would never bothered with this.
