Only ro16 and 317 pages of LR - it shows how amazing SC2 can be if there are big names playing!

Unfortunately I could not watch the last match between Life and Parting. For those who did, were there any macro game or just some sort of sneaky play/allin from Parting?

The allin play was from Life. Game1 was a 1-base allin. Game2 was very aggressive play and he had an advantage. All he needed to do was proceed normally and he should win. Instead, he overplayed his aggressiveness and was punished.

Kinda cheesy early zergling play from Life which Parting countered incredibly good.

Thanks for the replies :D Damn I hate the fact I couldn't watch them.
I wish we could have seen Innovation vs Parting though. Maybe on the finals?

God I can't stand them haha. Level of play is too dramatically different. WCS in general makes me so sad. I can really only watch GSL and then events like DreamHack now.

That's your loss then, you'll miss some exciting games. If Group of Death level is what you require you're going to miss out on a lot of Korean SC2 also.

How am I whining, lol? And yeah, I expected a bunch of really great games because all four of these guys are really great players. And considering this was billed and hyped as the greatest day of SC2 ever, I definitely wanted great games.

Almost every day in the GSL will give you a couple of great ones and a couple of good ones. Hence, the idea that what I got was far below what I expected. I'm not crying about it, I'm just a little disappointed. Take a second to chill before you get all aggro because some people disagree with you lol.

edit: and it's not ridiculous to say that none of the games were mind-blowing when they have like a 99.9% recommendation rating with 400 people voting on them. That would usually lead someone to believe that they were off-the-hook amazing, and imo they weren't. Some of them were really cool, but others were just overhyped.

Then tell me what exactly makes a great/amazing/mindblowing game and list a few.

I like what I saw today. I liked the dynamics of the Parting-Life series, I like the pace of Innovations bio play vs Flash, I'm amazed by the constant battle between Life and Innovation, I think that Parting's come-back vs Flash was exceptional.

This does the trick to me and makes up for a great day. I just accept the fact that in SC2 timing attack sometimes either works out or fails hard and the game kinda ends there. TBH, I wouldn't watch 15 split-map amazing macro games (think MVP vs Squirtle on Metropolis) if someone paid me.

I don't think anyone in his right mind would watch 15 split-map games in a row (they are usually pretty boring).
But you can have many games with low-eco situation where you don't know who the hell got an adavantage and is winning.
The first series was for me the best. Flash vs Innovation wasn't that good (the two first games they did too much economic damage, the last the abscence of viking for flash made it kinda painfull, and it wasn't very close). Life vs Innovation wasn't very close or mindblowing (the observer managed to keep track of the drops). Parting vs flash was okayish, because we don't see often late game PvT. And the last serie was a bit too short.

All in all it wasn't a bad day of code S, but nowhere near as "the best day of gsl ever" that was hyped.
That day http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=272002 was FAR ahead in term of enjoyement to watch, with pretty much every series delivering.

Today's GSL was best day ever in terms of starpower in the gruop stage. It has the story of guys picking strongest possible opponents and fighting them afterwords.

As far as game quality goes - well, I kinda agree with you. We've seen better, more intense games in the past - possibly in every match-up. This does not change the fact that today's games did earn their recommendations. Add the starpower and storyline behind this very group and you get a truly exceptional GSL experience.

At least this is how it works for me.

Groups like this come only so often. All of them except for Flash (arguably) have been performing very well up to this moment.

Does anybody know if and when GOMTV rebroadcasts their content? I remember that I watched a rebroadcast of Flash vs Rain in Code A...

the games were kinda cool but when did tasteless and artosis get so terrible at commentating

Personally I agree their commentating was awful, particularly Tasteless. They just keep repeating "zomg these guys are invincible perfect gosu gods." Maybe funny once but it just got ridiculous to the point where they weren't even breaking down what was going on in the games.

In my opinion Axeltoss and Axslav are the best pair of casters. Insightful and funny, they go on diatribes sometimes but then they get right back to giving useful commentary.

Idra casting DH was pretty good. If WCS hired him to cast those games solo and ignore all his antics I'd definitely watch that.

Why are you quoting those guys when you're talking about IdrA casting DH on his own?

I must admit IdrA is pretty good at casting when it comes to the mainstage so to speak, he's kept the bullshit out of it for the most part. Some would argue he shows no soul though.

Kinda cheesy early zergling play from Life which Parting countered incredibly good.

Even so, it worked pretty well. Life´s zergling play gave him an advantage in game 2. What went wrong is that he lost 20+ zerglings to some really good forcefields while trying to stall parting's natural expansion even more. Parting pushed a little later with too many forcefields and life couldn't hold it off.

If he hadnt lost those zerglings the game woudlve been totally different.
That's the 2nd time in a week I've seen someone sig a quote from this GD and I have never witnessed a sig quote happen in my TL history ever before. -Najda

I heard blizzard are implementing a time saving feature whereby the player automatically types gg and leaves upon creating a swarm host cocoon.
