Wow, Life beat Parting 2-0 then somehow Parting beats Life 2-0.
I thought Parting was easily the weakest player this group and he makes it out beating Flash and Life. Well done Parting.

Wow, looking back on it I should have KNOWN that the group that could have ended up with anybody getting out would end up with a result nobody expected...
WP by Innovation, what a CRAZY sick player! And Parting showing everyone who thought he wouldn't make it out (which was nearly all of us) who is boss!

Innovation/PartinG was my liquibet; I had PartinG advancing over Life but the scenario played differently in my head.

Noo Flash Impressed by Parting though, gonna watch the VODS.

Not because of the matches but because of how some foreigners behaved there. What the hell. I realise they are the outliers because most of the guys and gals there were just sitting there, making cheerfuls and enjoying this vibe they might have longed for for over a decade now. But if those guys were to brag here in this thread I'd call them out and shout banworthy things on their heads.
First and foremost because this isn't an issue of self entitlement but just basic manners. Dude, who the fuck do you think you are to literally strip the pizza out from another guy's hands? Like, really, I don't know if I should laugh or cry. What's wrong with you, jesus.
The second, but apparently much sadder issue I accidentally saw was a group of people making the teary-eyed Flash stop and sign autographs and fucknot. If you really are a fan (and I guess you are why else would you watch a guy's matches and wait there for autographs) and respect the player you are rooting for the last, and least respectful thing you could do is to make him sign your shit and laugh there when he just went 1-4 and is running away, crying and demolished. How huge of a self-entitled fag do you have to be to not realise that just because you had the chance to get to this studio tonight it doesn't make you automatically coolbro how can just do as he pleases. Jesus christ.
The matches were kinda meh, I was watching some baseball with some koreans after the winners match but the overall atmosphere was fantastic. I'd dare to say even better than the Ror0 - someone finals.
Parting crying after his win was a really heartwarming moment he's such a cool dude, eternal respect, really. these are pretty unpleasant things to hear, Flash..

This was exactly what I expected. I also have awful liquibet skills so I'm certain this was what people did not expect.

It's one person's perspective and I respect it, but it seriously sounds so extreme. Taking pizza off a dude's hands; what?!
I agree with the autograph thing, but looking from a different perspective, I can see how a fan might want to cheer his favorite player by asking for an autograph; like a show of support during the lowest moments. I don't know :\

I wonder if anyone knows what korean viewership was like considering the gigantic foreign viewership?
|
Innovation a level above the rest, as expected.
Parting showing great PvT strategy and resilience. Who needs observers, anyway? .__.
Life choosing to go early ling heavy vs the best microer in the world. Not the smartest play.
Games were awesome. I think the viewcount was really good. Those iPhone games (in commercials) will sell a lot ^-^

Best SC2 games I have ever watched.
These are the moments that make me glad I'm an eSports fan.
|
All I saw was Parting slow walking templars in by themselves, feedback and storm, and then a move crush flash. Pretty insane how sc2 sometimes fights on two fronts now with HoTS!

Poor Flash, will he ever reclaim the Federation or is this really the beginning of a new dawn?

315 pages on a Ro16 GSL, pretty sick still!
Would have wanted them all to advance. But the games were good and pretty hyped.
Cya PartinG haters!

And yeah, I expected a bunch of really great games because all four of these guys are really great players. And considering this was billed and hyped as the greatest day of SC2 ever, I definitely wanted great games.
Almost every day in the GSL will give you a couple of great ones and a couple of good ones. Hence, the idea that what I got was far below what I expected. I'm not crying about it, I'm just a little disappointed. Take a second to chill before you get all aggro because some people disagree with you lol.
edit: and it's not ridiculous to say that none of the games were mind-blowing when they have like a 99.9% recommendation rating with 400 people voting on them. That would usually lead someone to believe that they were off-the-hook amazing, and imo they weren't. Some of them were really cool, but others were just overhyped. Then tell me what exactly makes a great/amazing/mindblowing game and list a few. I like what I saw today. I liked the dynamics of the Parting-Life series, I like the pace of Innovations bio play vs Flash, I'm amazed by the constant battle between Life and Innovation, I think that Parting's come-back vs Flash was exceptional. This does the trick to me and makes up for a great day. I just accept the fact that in SC2 timing attack sometimes either works out or fails hard and the game kinda ends there. TBH, I wouldn't watch 15 split-map amazing macro games (think MVP vs Squirtle on Metropolis) if someone paid me.
I don't think anyone in his right mind would watch 15 split-map games in a row (they are usually pretty boring). But you can have many games with low-eco situation where you don't know who the hell got an adavantage and is winning. The first series was for me the best. Flash vs Innovation wasn't that good (the two first games they did too much economic damage, the last the abscence of viking for flash made it kinda painfull, and it wasn't very close). Life vs Innovation wasn't very close or mindblowing (the observer managed to keep track of the drops). Parting vs flash was okayish, because we don't see often late game PvT. And the last serie was a bit too short.
All in all it wasn't a bad day of code S, but nowhere near as "the best day of gsl ever" that was hyped. That day http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=272002 was FAR ahead in term of enjoyement to watch, with pretty much every series delivering.

If i was to buy access to vods($20 is rather steep compared with proleague ) is it better to get them from gomtv or twitch as i have heard people have complained with buffering issues through gom?
Thanks

Well fuck my life. The game were good, but fuck...painful as it is, I guess it's time to admit that Flash is never gonna win another title.
Ugh, feel so bad right now...goddammit.

Wow 315 pages, looks like I missed a piece of sc2 history =(

VOD's are only 540p with a light ticket, I'm fairly sure twitch provides 720p, if not 1080. GOM has better archive system though.
