Recap code s EU qualifiers :

1. Unknown european amateurs and semipro's not that bad. Talent is there
2. Code A/B KR-players struggle in Code s EU qualifiers;
3. Very entertaining, i loved every match.

This could mean an awesome tournament, WCS EU but also WCS finals.

Speech wise, I learned some Japanese but I lost the fire after I lost interest in anime, wasn't too bad learned about 1000 words then 10 years later I think I remember 100 words lol, no Japanese friends/family its a bitch.

Supposedly Chinese is also moderately hard its the written language that really kills you though.

I read the hardest language is Polish.

I watched the documentary "The boy with the Incredible Brain" and they had him learn Icelandic in like a week or something because that was supposed to be one of the hardest

Sadly it failed me this last time.

Why anyone would root for Beasty is beyond me but anyway Johhny played those games really well. Hopefully he sheds the ridiculous title of patch zerg soon enough.

I guess it would be nice to see an eu zerg advance so.... go Tefel :D

lol, no they arn't. learning mandarin would be a good idea however.

what do you mean "lol no they aren't" those are amongst the most popular languages. in many european countries 1 or 2 of those is mandatory to learn in high school, and you can use them in many countries, at many jobs. mandarin is much more useless than these for the sole reason that it is like 10 times harder to learn so you probably won't ever manage to do so.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_languages_by_total_number_of_speakers
According to wiki by total number of speakers:
Russian is on num.5
French num. 9 and
German num .11
I guess they are among the popular.

In most of Europe's contries you are obliged to learn 2 foreign languages during your school education.
In my case:
Polish is my main, i'v been learning
- english since elementary school
- german in junior high school - high school (could choose between german-russian-french)
- and on university i'v picked up swedish as next one (could choose between german-russian-french-spanish-swedish-italian)

I didn't really expect to see any UK players qualify for EU Premier Division but JonnyRecco is giving me some hope. Sad to see BlinG go out especially given how he obviously feels about it, but I just don't think he's at the very top European level right now.

Mandarin and Hindi are languages spoken by over a billion people each, that however doesn't make them languages you should learn since they are isolated to their native countries. German, French and Russian are spoken in many many countries around the world and are therefore better to learn.

I agree with Hindi, it's very isolated and many Hindi speakers also speak English (with English being an official language in India), but Mandarin is actually quite useful, and a lot of South-East Asian countries use it as a second language too, so you'll benefit from it a lot if you ever do business in that area (and it's the fastest developing region of the world too).

Other than Singapore, who use Mandarin as an official language, some Malaysian can speak it, but no one else in SEA speak Mandarin at all.

In Europe, it's standard for an average student to speak at least 3 language already. Usually their native tongue+English+one of their neighbor's language.

Idk, saying an average student speaks three languages is maybe a bit too much. I never had much trouble learning languages but I already forgot like 80% of the French I learned in school because I never used it after grade 13, I'm native in German and my English is okay, but I'm 100% certain that less than half of the people I went to school with can still speak three languages. Two for sure, yeah, but probably not three. A lot of the more "average" students already had trouble in their third language anyway, no practice only amplifies that.

wat

It's standard to speak your native language and english yes. But a 3rd one? I studied french for freaking 6 years and je ne comprends pas. I know russian because I was born in the Ukraine, but that's an exception. People speaking 3 languages is actually quite rare and not the standard at all.

It's pretty standard to learn at least 2 foreign languages in school, but that doesn't mean people really speak those languages. I learned French and Spanish in school and I almost remember nothing of the French and I couldn't really communicate in Spanish, besides some basic sentences.
