The usual: Don't flame casters or players. Don't discuss balance in this or any LR thread. Don't call your fellow posters idiots. Be excited, happy and entertained.

Fun facts:
  • Of the 6 kespa players to start in the tournament, 5 have advanced to the quarterfinals.
  • This mirrors their performance in the last GSL where 4 of the 5 kespa players advanced to the quarters. A kespa player of course went on to win it.
  • Kespa players have a series win rate of 90.9% so far.
  • Kespa players inhabit the entire bottom bracket, and 3/4 of the top bracket are ESF. Therefore a kespa player is guaranteed in the finals and we have a very high chance of a ESF-Kespa finals (rematch.)
  • Please do not start any flame wars, this is merely FYI

there is no loser bracket this time....

I think by "bottom bracket" he means left side vs right side. Right side is all Kespa players (Flash, Parting, Rain, INnoVation)

Well we could have a Kespa vs Kespa final still. I mean Last has no Bo7s until then to worry about.

Besides is it really ESF if it's StarTale + MC (SK not in ESF). I know what you mean though. Kespa vs non-kespa-korean =P

EDIT: I was about to ask what kespa player went down but I totally forgot this was cj_hero not liquid_hero. I'm a MC fan and all, but I was shocked hero was the first kespa player to bow out. Maybe needs more tournament practice. Flash, Rain, Parting + Innovation by comparison are in a singles tournament every month almost.

Polt vs Life was the standout. Partly for the crowd.

And then some others were ok. To be honest nothing really standout. Pretty one sided, even Rain vs Jjakji (as much as it pains me to say) was one sided despite the score.

Thorzain vs Killer was...something....

It's left/right on MLG's bracket but top/bottom on liquipedia so that would explain it

Well, it's obvious the Kespa training regimen, talent scouting, and coaching are starting to pay dividends. Course ESF is still able to hold its own for the time being, but the greater resources on the side of Kespa are starting to show in the results.

Aren't you invalidating the whole kespa vs ESF skill debate, by counting Parting as a kespa player? The original debate, is about upbringing and oldschool players transitioning to a new game, not a sc2 player transitioning to kespa-federation.
Just as Polt isn't less korean, by attending an american school for a few months...

I want to see another series like Bomber-Goswser. And I would love to see some more Totalcontrol casting, they were awesome yesterday

MC after beating MVP: "I was only worried about MVP. Really confident against other players. I think I'm gonna champion." + HoTS balance, Protoss stability, etc.

Yeah, counting Parting as a Kespa player in these arguments really doesn't make much sense at the moment.

I love how MC's comment on HotS is that he wants a protoss campaign instead.
