Lol, every thread, it's a joke.

PL threads were the worst though. Those like me were excited to see the Kespa guys, the novelty, as we'd missed it in BW. But no, instead of having cool discussions and getting psyched up about a prestigious tourney, every thread is just bitching about EGTL, their managers, their players with 93% of it based on nothing other than conjecture

Actually, the first few threads were all hype. Then the hype died.

The hype was there, but amongsts shitloads of smug 'I told you so's' from people who hadn't actually MADE any predictions, or put their rep on the line like the TL writers did.

Anyway, cool games. Interested to see if Maru can actually do anything in Code S of note, he has moments of great skill but he seems kinda shakey.

Well, I thought Fionn was just joking with his predictions. And then I realized he was actually serious about them

Fantasy was on a 8 game losing streak too, he even got benched in PL for a week.

And then SKT went 4-0 against EG-TL.

From what I hear the Korean fans are even harsher.

Korean fans and players are just as BM or more than foreign fans. They are complete assholes online in starcraft, LoL, dota every single game. They are no different online than we are. They bitch constantly about balance and about playstyles or anything at all while watching and while playing the game.

There isn't any difference in respect for korean fans vs foreign fans.

I was predicting Fantasy and HerO to go Code S.

They need to give a seed to Scarlett! Boo! No wildcards!

If Scarlett somehow manages a Code S seed, it would have definitely been a crazy year for her, going from NA unknown to Code S player within 12 months.

There is a pretty big difference between GSL and MLG events in terms of difficulty, I think she would be annihilated just like every single foreigner so far

No foreigner did win GSL so far, but many didnt get annihilated, especially Jinro, Idra, Huk, Naniwa and Stephano.

Aren't those all the foreigners that have been in GSL?
And can we please use recent results for a change, Jinro, Idra, Naniwa haven't been in GSL for months. HuK's ro8 days are long past.

Way more foreigners have tried the GSL they just always lost in the qualifiers or if they got a seed in the first or second round of Code A and then left Korea. Select, Ret, Haypro, TLO, Mana, Sen, Moonglade, Sheth, Sase, Fenix, Thorzain, sjow. Probably some more especially counting the qualifiers. All of those players got Code A or Code S seeds at some point.

Thank god they don't do seeds anymore...

Yeah, diversity is horrible -.- But what, seriously ?

I've been of the belief that since GSL prides itself on being one of the two most prestigious tournaments in the world (with PL being the other), players who get into Code S have to actually earn their spot by going through the brackets.

TLO did great in GSL and only left cause of his wrist. Ret didn't do bad either, taking down the most cursed player in sc2 history IMO Cyrano. He pops up every now and then still to lose an embarrassing fairly high profile match.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

They made sense at the time, given that a hell of a lot of Kespa players were either unknown or mediocre, with quite a few bombing in the GSl, or being average at best with a few exceptions. The training regimes are of course well-known, but equally it wasn't ridicuous to take the Kespa work ethic as being there, but come to the conclusion that it hadn't yet started paying off.

I suppose he should. Yet I still don't understand what he did so poorly in his play to deserve to be in that spot. Yesterday with Killer, it was fine, he played bad overall and made many huge mistakes. But with HerO it's a bit hard to accept all these loss, even as a fan.

Maybe HerO just needs a break. 8 game losing streak has gotta be rough on him

I suppose he should. Yet I still don't understand what he did so poorly in his play to deserve to be in that spot. Yesterday with Killer, it was fine, he played bad overall and made many huge mistakes. But with HerO it's a bit hard to accept all these loss, even as a fan.

Didn't see all the games granted. HerO plays a kind of high-risk, high-reward style a lot of the time, relying on his multitasking and whatnot more than other Protoss players. When it fails he still often looks 'good' but fragile, it's a natural consequence of the style. Gumiho is the best example, his multitasking is insane and glorious to watch, even when it fails you don't think 'Gumiho's a scrub'. At least if you're me!

Players like Killer are sooo boring and cookie cutter that I don't know, you just go 'meh' when they lose. Tbh I was surprised to see Killer in U+D given he had looked to be falling over for quite a while.

For whatever reason, Nestea chooses the latter. I don't know why.

according to some interview, dont remember where it is, Nestea said a lot of the time he plans on going infestor builds and does them in practice, but when he's in the booth he said he is more comfortable going for mutas so he just does that

Great match though, and the point (of foreigners relevant in GSL) still holds.

Oh also Thorazin didn't do THAT bad either really. Neither did mana.

Man I wish foreigners didn't forfeit after dropping to Code A so frequently though.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

I dont mind - if they want to play in the GSL - go there and play. Recieving seeds, then going last place in your group and dropping from GSL is not really nice addition.

HerO is mentally done I am so sad watching him. He was crying before the beginning of that game I mean thats bad.

Honestly, we all should be rallying around him and cheer for HerO win or lose and keep his spirits up, or else where is he going to find the strength to continue, it is us who need to be his light and his brothers in TeamLiquid.

I am praying for you HerO please find strength wherever you can and stop crying I can't stand it anymore. T_T

Hate to say this but NO TEARS; ONLY DREAMS ok? Please! <3
