Usual play .

Foreigner too scared to be early aggressive or creative so plays super standard.

Korean expects safe play and goes for some obscure cheese or timing attack.

It has been like this ever since the early Brood War days.
But then Naniwa came.

And brought probes rush, the most aggressive early build ever

LOLOLOL! When GSL was dominated by Terran? Do you remember any of the games Stephano played during that period against top Korean Terrans?

And he did play at the end of 2011, in the Blizzard cup. Got knocked out 1st round.

IPL3.

He beat Boxer and TheStC, and lost to Alive. They aren't much compare to the top terrans he would've had to face in the GSL.

Winning 2-3 day tournaments doesn't mean much in GSL format.

They require different skills for sure. For some reason GSL format is seen as superior though. I'm not saying the weekend format is superior, just different.

Eh??? So if MKP wins again he can get to Code S, and have a chance at winning the last WoL GSL? Then why did the casters say " MKP Sorry you are not gonna win a WoL GSL" a few weeks ago? MKP still has a chance at winning gsl wol right?
Regarding the imbalance, hilarious to see Zergs defending themselves....

Shortly after, at MLG he lost to Boxer and theStC after beating them the first time. His vT was very snipe-able back then. Not sure if it was the Queen/OL patch that helped him or he figured soomething else out b/c I didn't watch late 2011, early 2012; still he was a lot stronger when I saw him mid-2012 than the time frame you gave.

Actually, I think his best shot would be 2012 season 2 or 3. Not saying he'll win, just that it'd be his best shot considering his form.

Stephano haters had already won today anyway:

If he lost, it would be because he was a foreigner
If he won, it would be because he was a zerg

See how easy it is.

On a sidenote, weee Life vs Alive! That's not gonna be a fun cast at all.

So you gave an example of a tournament where he lost to the only Terran who was in Code S at the time? Thanks for proving my point.

There's no point to be made. You're attempting to take one series and make claims about how good or bad he might've done in a hypothetical situation 3 years ago. Good luck with that.

Probably also because Life will beat the shit out of aLive, unless he magically improved his vZ big time(haven't seen him for quite a while).

To be fair, not many people remember this but Alive beat Stephano twice in that tournament.

Once in the qualifiers and the 2nd time in the weird bracket. But yes, that 2nd time was meaningless.

God I hope Life outright kills aLive. Neither of NesTea or aLive deserves to get into Code S after that worthless third map.

Sad to see Stephano go, only caught the third map, which didn't go so much as planned. Better luck in Up / Downs Stephano!
