I didn't know about it until after it had begun. And I spend a lot of time on teamliquid.net. Nah, PR did a terrible job. Lucifron is looking great after the initial banshee harass got him so ahead. Really wasn't even close. If you watched the IPL at all, they plugged it furiously in their broadcasts. Sure, but IPL is watched by 2k-5k people, I'm sure they'd want a bit more for that. The thread on here had two or three pages before the event started after it had been up for two weeks. There was no thread on Reddit about the event being live in so-and-so-many hours, etc. The general public really had not much of a chance to notice it.
Well DICE is a video gaming industry summit, so it may be arguably more important that the live viewers (summit attendees, which may include video game industry executives, experts and insiders) have a good impression than simply the number of online stream watchers. So even if stream viewership is low, it doesn't necessarily mean the event is a failure as long as a good impression can be made at to the live attendees.

so Grubby didnt attend GSL to focus on DICE IPL Shodown? obviously a good decision ...

Scarlett, you have to defend vs basic banshee/hellion harass! 30 workers killed is gg

Also the slivko's style requires a ton of spine crawlers

Well, that might be true, but there's no reason at all to not make more people watch your stream if it's entirely up to you because you have all the resources needed to attract them.

He probably could have just said Scarlett-style then, tbh. sLivko shows more variance in his play, than I have seen her doing.

That might be right, did´nt caught a lot of that tourney back then. But in general, the thing I associate the most with sLivko´s playstyle is he dual-race play, which is not really bashworthy.

Neural SCV/probe into build CC/Nexus into use mules (and other stuff). He has done this more, than any other pro, I could think off.

Incredible Creep Spread. That takes serious skill
Lucifron had some key opportunities to attack that he missed, but even as he lost engagement after engagement, his macro was solid enough so that he never fell significantly far in supply until the end.

Scarlett still play very very boring....
