They are in Korea, I assume they're at the Proleague venue. Not sure if they observe themselves or use the Korean observer, but it's not from restreams anymore.

I get the feeling they (especially supernovamaniac) were trying to translate extremely loud and shouty Korean hype-casting into English and it was absolutely unbearable and annoying. Making matters worse, supernovamaniac was solo casting for awhile, so I ended up just muting the whole thing. Not sure how whiplash was, but some posters around here have said he wasn't so bad.

So we turned our collective volumes up to hear them only to get owned in the end.
It was better in the second match when they adjusted the volume. Whiplash could use some pronunciation practice but I don't mind it personally. He's like Spotv's Khaldor.

It was their first time casting, they'll improve drastically.

Of course they will, I just hope they get to be at the studio with someone in game. If they are just in Korea with the OGN feed it will never be as good as it should be.
We will see soon. Gogo EG-TL

My man @Myungwoon ain't gonna lose to a dong ;D.
Stars has this in the bag, I really hope ZerO gets a win vs. Jaedong, he's been improving, maybe gonna overtake Soulkey as the ace in SC2 soon enough!

They were on site though right? What happened to EGTL setting up proleague casts, did they lose the gig? Over the last couple of hours Incontrol made some tweets that indicate that supernovamaniac (snm) and whiplash are on site and that Incontrol is not too happy with the situation. I assume this indicates that EG at least did not call for the current setup (otherwise I don't think Incontrol would voice his opinion as candidly as this): + Show Spoiler [Tweets] + Geoff Robinson @EGiNcontroL What's better: online commentators that are charismatic, renowned and knowledgeable or two unproven relatively unknown on site commentators?
Geoff Robinson @EGiNcontroL Seriously curious. On site is HUGE but I am wondering how huge given the disparity I am seeing.
Geoff Robinson @EGiNcontroL Lotsa people saying "new blood" and "must start somewhere" but to me starting by casting the pro league is like doing the nfl playoffs 1st
Matt Mav @Mavsatwit @EGiNcontroL That is a loaded comparison. Well known casters were once unproven as well.
Geoff Robinson @EGiNcontroL @Mavsatwit and casted smaller events/streams building themselves up to the honor if casting the major leagues...
Geoff Robinson @EGiNcontroL @Mavsatwit and if you think I was loaded.. What defense do you have for last nights cast? Was I unfair ?
I don't really know what supernovamaniac (snm) and whiplash are up to these days but snm used to hang around Korean streams (mostly BW) and helped moderate and often translated Korean interviews live in chat. I get the impression that he is not that excited about SC2, but I'm not completely sure on that. Whiplash used to be a part-time NA protoss player on VT. He took part in some online cups and some of the early MLGs, but have never been successful and I suppose he is retired now. It's kinda funny to read these responses. EG and other guys were really defensive after the first EGTL-managed casts gotten some criticism for not prepared casters who can't even recognize the KeSPA players and don't know how well they played before. They said it was all setup up in hurry and they didn't have much time to prepare. From what I've read yesterday, snm and Whiplash just flew to Korea and walked to the studio basically from the Airport, it was all last minute like EGTL stuff. If anyone else feels he can do better job, he could took the IEG offer and be there on site, preparing all week just for Proleague. These guys were active in the community since the BW days so they naturally wanted to help even if they're not pros because no else was able to do it live.
iNcontroL unfortunately lacks some background info himself because snm has been casting Proleague few times in previous seasons just by reastreaming, there was only few people watching at the time, including me few times and the feedback was generally positive at the time. Besides that he always provided these live translations, hopefully he can get cleaner Korean feed this time so he can translate it all again. Also snm casted OSL finals for OGN on the site, officially, there would be no English stream if not for him. So it's not like he's never done this before. It's just hard to start solo casting without much time to prepare when he's not supposed to be the main analytical caster, I think he just wants to be the Korean type hype caster and nothing wrong about that. Just give him another chance and time to improve.

Yeah, I gotta say those were kinda some douchey comments by Incontrol.

ffs EGTL 4-0 incoming

EG-TL should take this one. Jaedong, Taeja and Hero are all favored vs their opponents (Jaedong vs ZerO may be even, but I believe in Jaedong), and I expect that these 3 collect at least 2 victories for EGTL.
Zenio is coming back and starting to play well, so he will likely take out free.
I don't have too much faith in JYP or PuMa but I consider it pretty likely that one of them will collect a victory.
So as I see it we will likely see a 4-2 in favor of EGTL or ace match, but Stars cannot match EGTL in an ace match. Taeja can take out any Stars player on Antiga. If inhouse practice results show that HerO is on form, then he could also be a nice surprise for ace match. Especially as Stars will likely have mostly prepared for Taeja in ace.

Whoever updates the recent tournament thing on the main page, the Khan vs KT thing has a typo. It says Kahn.
