No one is really holding you down and forcing you to watch it (Unless I am wrong, I could be. Odd way to surf TL though). It is just a bit of fun, and maybe a glimpse into what some of HOTs could look like ZvP.

some people like seeing things other than hardcore top-level competition sometimes. if you don't, fair enough, iron squid is on right now and should probably go just about until the actual finals of NASL are starting, to go watch that i guess.

personally i'd rather watch a hots showmatch and a silly FFA than another WoL ZvP and a WoL TvZ between a good zerg player and a much better terran player who might just end up losing anyways.

Hmm actually makes sense, the matchups arent that great atm. Well, still think I'm gonna watch iron squid tho :D

So there's a free Stream but even't is in the middle of the night for EU (starting at 21:30...) on a Sunday. This means you have to watch VODs, but they are not free.

Technicaly free NASL-Tournament for US, EU has to pay...

I'm so confused by the people complaining about timezones. DH does NOT schedule their tournaments to be "world-friendly", which is ridiculous because there exists timezones. Both DH finals and GSL start times are usually around 4am my time (US EST). Whoever says that DH schedules around NA timezones is incorrect.

There is nothing a tournament can do about timezones, except do 1) rebroadcasts and 2) have VODs. I definitely agree that NASL could have done Day 1 rebroadcasts immediately after, but I can understand them not airing a rebroadcast since Day 1 was nearly 12 hours long and there wasn't enough time to replay the entire rebroadcast. And as for VODs, that's part of subscribing and I also can't fault them for having real subscriber bonuses.

Being able to watch the final should not be a subscriber bonus.

I suggest you mention this to Gom. I'm sure they would find it humorous. (Of course, I am awake at 4am, so I can watch pixelvision live.)

Gom at least has their finals on a saturday, always. It just sucks because I would stay up if I could. But I really can't watch a bo7 grand finals starting at 2am on a monday morning when I have to go to work 6 hours later. If you're gonna do that have it a) be a saturday or b) let there be free vods for the finals. That's just simple logic. Anything else is just a big fuck you to everybody in different timezones. Which sucks because I love watching NASL.

It's impossible to schedule in a timezone that lets everyone watch. Especially for a live event, as they are constrained by the hours of the venue. The finals being on a Saturday is important? Only if you are one of the relatively few people that get to work M-F only.

Of course, I'm capable of going to work, coming home, going to sleep immediately, and waking up more or less at the time something starts, and staying awake for the 15 or so hours that watching + work runs. YMMV, depending on your ability to adjust your sleep schedule around the tournaments. It's a matter of convenience, and if it's not convenient, that's not their specific problem. They are serving a different audience, and they are well worth the cost for HD/VODs given the amount of content for the price.

Sure, finals may be in daylight in the US for EU tournaments, but how many people get off of work early enough to catch them? (Okay, I do. But I work from before 8am CET to about 5pm CET. Which sounds nice, except I'm in CST. And my "Monday" is Sunday.)

Anyways, enough about all that. Violet gonna win.

I get that scheduling for everybody is pretty much impossible but the way they're currently doing it completely ignores part of their audience. They can't honestly be expecting everybody in european timezones to "adjust their sleep schedule" when people have to work. They could rebroadcast for european timezones like IPL does with their teamleagues for example or they could have free VODs. That's only fair. Dreamhack provides free VODs because not everybody can watch live. That's fair, Dreamhack is catering to a global audience just like NASL.
Not being able to watch live is something I got used to during MLGs but I'm sure as hell not gonna pay 10$ now for a single series that really should be available for everybody. It's not a matter of convenience, an entire continent has to pay that prize to watch a single series. That's not just inconvenient, that's a little over the top if you ask me.
That's why GSL has their finals on a saturday. Then it's a matter of convenience. If it's a finals at 2am monday, it's not. I simply cannot stay awake for that, I can't just watch that and catch up on sleep at work. And that's why there should be a free rebroadcast at least or free vods for at least the finals. That's fair, everything else is not.

And HerO wins btw.

Well, I know whitera has been playing lots of HotS, and Ret probably has too. It's a fun insight into what could very well be the early strategies/builds of HotS, and played between two pro level players. Also, I was iffy on the FFA, but the one they had at IEM was really funny to watch and entertaining. Also this one is HotS FFA so it'll be ridiculously fun. I'm like 90% sure Day9 will end up playing in it and try some kind of mothership core timing. Someone else will mass tempests, someone else will go reaper allins.

You can watch GSL live without it being 4am... Many a rough start to the day for me.

You are waiting to watch HoTS at 2 AM in the morning? Kudos to you sir. I'd just sleep early and wake up at 5 AM to watch the 3rd place match and grand finals.

Well finals start at 4 in the night for me, it's like 8 in the morning for you? I guess that's quite fine but sucks for me.

I would love if those Tournaments would be held at fr/saturday instead. less a problem to stay up all night.

Or free VODs/rebroadcast. I really don't understand why NASL is doing neither of those, it's so standard to do it and it only makes sense. They're really just hurting themselves because they're losing every single european viewer with a job.

Sadly, (Z)Life isn't fair. (Quite imba, actually, and not because of race.)

But no, no... Violet wins. I'm sure of it. I'd bet on it, but I didn't buy this season so I have no points or bacon. (Next season, though, maybe. Because NASL HD is freaking sweet.)

Then get an HD Pass with Vods? sorry, but for every luxus in the world you have to pay. I got a HD pass for GomTV and Proleague, because i have to go to the uni while the games are on. even for a student the prizes are effortable. besides that there are more than enough other tournaments you can watch for free, in EU friendly times.
