Actually only about 100 korean played SC1 including those trainers. You can see how many in SC2 community now.
SC2 is designed to be more player friendly, less mechanics and more mind games. And i guess it works.

3rd place matches are lame tbh. Players who just lost the road to championship have no motivation nor will to play it. Just split equally for 3rd/4th like most tournaments do.
