I watched it once but it was so chaotic that I had to tap out. It's crazy. Like a neon coloured ZvZ infested terran showdown with letters on top of everything.

Actually only about 100 korean played SC1 including those trainers. You can see how many in SC2 community now.
SC2 is designed to be more player friendly, less mechanics and more mind games. And i guess it works.

there were at least 150+ active pros who were kespa ranked, more than 400 amateur/semipros a lot of them living in semipro houses, plus a ton more who are just like B/B+ ranked on iccup, so not "100 korean"....

As much as you are correct about BW before, you can't actualy predict the future and where Sc2 is going to be compared to a game that has no TV pro scene anymore.

LoL is now the king in Korea, SC2 is a niche game in Korea, even the Kespa transition didnt change that, and you are telling me that suddenly SC2 is going to have BW popularity in its peak or even now???. 3rd place matches are lame tbh. Players who just lost the road to championship have no motivation nor will to play it. Just split equally for 3rd/4th like most tournaments do.
