MKP said he wants to win both so I doubt he will drop IPL. It may not be the smartest decision, but...that's not what mkp is known for

At IPL4 they did BO5 then BO5, and I think that worked out alright. Not much of a difference here other than two less sets in the second series.

Wasn't it really anticlimatic or something? Since the first one went 3-2, and people were like aghrhh I need to sit through another BO5? Maybe that's the aLive effect though...

I think that was because the final ran really really late into the evening. If the final starts at 6 PM PST, that shouldn't happen again.

no people were just upset that squirtle got crushed in the second bo5. we wanted to see more games because the first bo5 was sick

I love you IPL.

Ehh, at least the finals format is better than the previous one. I did like the dual Bo5 one in IPL4, but I suppose this isn't as bad as it could be. Bo7 or even Bo9 would be the best imo, but this is at least indicative of IPL's ability to recieve criticism from the community and take it with a good heart.

bo7 with 2 games advantage is huge, it could lead to an anticlimatic 2-0 grand final ... and *plouf* game over.

I like BO9 with 2 games up personally.

What about BO69 with 8 games up?

nah, too little advantage
a bo9 with 2 games up:
-can get to seven games (normal finals length)
-is an equivalent of a bo3 up (2 games)
-WF winner needs 3 games, LF winner needs 5 games

I think that's pretty fair personally?

I guess it's fair, I'm just a bit scarred from IPL4 when I started watching at about 6PM I think and the finals were at like 7AM (or later, I don't remember), I was tired as fuck, the sun started to rise and by the time the second BO5 or whatever the format was started I was almost passed out and decided to go to sleep.

As long as the schedule is fine, I'm all for it, but if it's incredibly late again, I'd rather have it be quick.

agreed... the schedule looks SO much better than last year, especially considering that they have the GSL and the world championships to squeeze in.

Did IGN fire HD and Painuser? I miss those guys. I always thought Painuser + Catzpj was a great duo because of their synergy with regards to their analysis and enthusiasm

Isn't JMorrow in the caster search? Why is he already gonna be there if he's not top 4 yet?
