If KeSPA players aren't allowed to compete at other tournaments because of the MLG partnership, then MLG really is killing StarCraft.

Shame, since it makes tournaments more boring, stale, and less important as a premier competition. Hopefully this is not the case.

Which does suggest they are simulcasting it on their own stream, (which is lower quality than HQ IPL) but will they force IPL to degrade their video again like last time? Still unclear.

I have to commend IGN. When the initial qualifiers for IPL5 took place, there were some complaints from me and others that they clashed with other tournaments, specifically NASL3, WCS Canada, WCS Ukraine etc. I feared that IPL5 would suffer in quality and prestige because it would lack a strong and popular field of players due to these schedule clashes.

It is good to see that IGN took these complaints on board and changed their intial plans by having additional qualifiers and also bringing in players via the GSL World Championship team event. So now my fears for IPL5 will not be realised, in fact the opposite is now true and IPL 5 has the most stacked list of competitors of any SC2 tournament ever! This will bring the attention and prestige that IPL deserves. So well done to IGN for taking the right steps to ensure the legacy of IPL tournaments continues with a growing reputation. So plaudits to IPL for assembling such a field of players. The SC2 world will definitely be watching IPL5!

TheBB its a best of 5 then an best of 3 for the finals. Its at the bottom of the ipl5 all information post.

so does anyone know what the situation is with buying tickets at the door? Everyone I knew who wasnt in the open bracket at ipl4 got their ticket at the door even though it sold out as well. Just wondering if this has changed.

Edit: nvmd, cant buy tickets at the door for this event

Are there usually this many commercials for this event? Or is this a first. I literally get lucky if I watch a game or two because I fall asleep between matches.
