So much money on the line this tournament. 100k first place and 40k second....o.o 100.000 $ would be a huge push for either of the players, especially Rain and Creator who could both potentially climb the Top 10 highest earners using "money chrono boost" lol this should be the biggest tournament of the year

Although he looked like he struggled against Bomber, he looked really strong against Ganzi and Crank. Since after the group stages, it will be single elim Ro16, a lot will come down to the draw. Even if you get top seed in the group, you can still draw a top player who was in a tough group or was upset in group stage.

Sure you get the title of being the World Champion but are you really the best player in the world or just the luckiest? It means you win the tournament and get the money. What else do you want, world peace? Maybe you want a BO3 round robin of top 1000 players in the world for at least 2 rounds to see who is the best player?

Well considering you had to be consistent throughout the 2nd half of the year I would say the person who wins definitely deserves to be called World Champion. No luck involved.

Sure you get the title of being the World Champion but are you really the best player in the world or just the luckiest? It means you won $100,000 dollars. There are multiple tournaments that have 'world championships' like IEM, ESWC, WCG. Since this event is Blizzard organized, it probably gets more recognition. But so was Blizzcon. So no, just winning this tournament alone would not make you THE best player in world (which is always debated) but it would be a big step in building your résumé. At the end of the day, being the BEST player is fickle. Life probably had that to title (maybe co share with Rain) after his GSL and MLG win. But after his GSL lost just a couple weeks later, he no longer has that Title). Again, Life is still one of the Top players but just hard to say he is THE best player.
