The Intel Extreme Masters next stop takes us to the amazing land of Singapore, where once again the world's best gamers will battle it out for supremacy over their respective fields. The StarCraft 2 and League of Legends tournaments will provide a grand total of $82,000 as players from Europe, America and Asia duke it out for the top spot. If you live in Korea or Taiwan and are reading this thread, this is your chance to be a part of the experience! For people around the world, you can enjoy players battling for IEM slots.
The Korea and Taiwan qualifier will once again be split up into 3 stages (detailed below). Stage 1 will consist of 4 cups open to everyone, you can sign up and participate to then earn a spot in Stage 2. Stages 2 and 3 are mostly comprised of invites based on a ranking system. For Singapore we've also factored in players who qualified for China in order to give them the best opportunity possible for their previous feats.

Man i'm so confused as to what you're implying xD doesn't make much sense.
Oops didn't see your post. I just meant that the event is in 10 days and they are barely getting the players in. I would assume most events would want their full player list sorted a good couple of weeks before the event so they can build some hype. How can the organizers or even the players know whether they will be available when the actual event happens? What if they have a Code S group during that time?
I'm not sure what was so confusing, since it seemed pretty clear cut to me. That post was made on the 7th, when the qualifiers were supposed to end by the 11th, and they got moved another two days, so I'm honestly questioning the preparedness of the event.
EDIT: Carmac tweeted that there will be an Open bracket for this event as well - hopefully the koreans that don't make it through the top 4 can still attend!

Everything was posted a long time ago. The low number of participants in Qualification is due to poor advertisement to Korean Sc2 teams due to our very busy schedule
We apologize for not letting the community know about the Stage 2 & 3 dates change, but this move was made in accordance with all the players, due to Code A qualifiers being played on Saturday and yesterday.

No problem! Since this is being done all in real time rather than replays, I'm just scared that the koreans that qualify won't get flights or might have sudden schedule conflicts. Will you guys be posting a format for Singapore? Since it seems with the 4 qualifiers from Korea/TW it will add up to a total of 14 players, rather than the 16 from Cologne, so I'm wondering if there will be an extra 2 straight invites or a change up in format.
edit: Wait, is this played live or from replays? Going to be hard for Bomber to make it if it's live :{
I'm rooting for Mvp to win this qualifier! There's too little Mvp to see before the end of the year, winning IEM Singapore + getting back into Code S + winning Blizzard Cup + winning IPL 5 + winning his GSL World Championship 2012 matches + winning Iron Squid Chapter II might satiate my Mvp appetite.
Let's start with this qualifier. Go Mvp!
Edit: Mvp pulled out? Damn... well, he made it out of the IEM Open Bracket before...
Yeah... Seems like not too many people really cared about IEM T_T....
Would have been entertaining to watch them play, but do they think of it as a lesser tournament? I would think it's pretty worth it to win Singapore...

IEM ZergandProtoss, what the hell is this race distribution, never seen something this bad. Even WCS is better than this. IEM so unlucky with their qualifiers this time.

It's mostly that they insist on qualifiers. It's very brave of them but will not make for good distribution. Sadly we are at the point that for an event of this scale terrans need to be invited.
