Maybe you could argue that he should have put down a hatch in Grubby's main below his army when he destroyed Grubby's buildings there to make space, but he had nowhere else to put them really.
He went for a baserace without having an uprooted spore or spine with his army. That's a mind numbingly dumb oversight. Zerg should never ever ever lose because of buildings in a situation like that.

especially if you face a race that can't take their buildings with their army like your race can.

I wonder if Grubby actually knew that this were the last zerg structures or if it happened by accident?

I sure saw the random zealots taking down the majority of remaining structures at Ret's main/natural. Then them taking out the hatchery at the 2 oclock. And Ret's final buildings at 11 oclock.
Mentioned by the casters/observer zero times.

Ret does that frustratingly often, though not often to that degree.
LOL, Apollo with the "exploitive" language.

Wonder what ret thought that moment he lost.

Even if Grubby loses to Nerchio now, he will still play tiebrakers for the last spot to China since Stephano is directly seeded. Right?!

so true.

Grubby didn't have enough carriers 'cause of all the zealots he had and stuff : S. Im pretty sure Ret would have won. I wonder what was going through his head; occupying his attention :S .

100% they do count as buildings.

They do count. We had the same exact situation happen between MC and Curious in GSL Code S, Curious won with Spines walking around with his army.

Just no.. Ret's just slumping a little bit recently stuck in a bad mindset. Well if he keeps his control like that he's not going to recover. Yeah that's true his control is so many levels under his macro. He's kind of like top, fantastic macro but at this point everyone has the macro to match it and with the poor control they have it just can't cut it against top tier opponents.

It would have been incredibly simple for him to have had a few spores mixed into his army...was an ENORMOUS blunder by Ret.

Your meant to march spore crawlers with your broodlord army in those situations. They don't lose health off creep and are scoring.
See Curious vs MC GSL this season.

Grubby the king of basetrades has done it again.Such nice play by him!!

Nerchio will play Grubby tommorow right?

I want Grubby to win so bad (700k twitter followers in China, WC3 history), but I also want Nerchio to win..... I'm so conflicted. At least if Grubby wins Stephy still makes it. But I don't see Grubby winning unless he pulls off some incredible cheese/baseraces. That was not the first time he sat back did some good harass but let the zerg build an unbeatable army. He didn't get enough stargates and build carriers fast enough for a switch.
