They will be running concurrently. (See the broadcast schedule.) WCS NA will start about 4 hours before MLG on Friday, and it will end on Saturday.

I remember listening to an interview that IdrA gave after MLG Anaheim about competing in both the MLG tournament and the WCS tournament, and how brutal and busy it was, and how that in turn affected his results.
Thinking that he was on the verge of improvement, and seeing that he is on the list for both the WCS event and in the Open Bracket of MLG makes me sad, because I have long awaited his comeback into the scene. And this is coming from someone that doesn't even judge IdrA as even in his top 25 players. But, with all the history and skill he has, I would love to see him get over his mental struggles.
Let's hope he proves my point wrong.

Considering many of these tournaments are held at the same time of another major indeed plus it's regional. Thus you have to take some of the results with a pinch of salt.
With that said, Greg hasn't really been performing well for a long time, so him not doing to well doesn't really surprise me. Very few players are capable of rising to the occasion or coming out blazing.
Another reason why guantlets aren't that much fun. You sort of get an idea of who's going to win it based on how they're playing on that day.

The schedule shouldn't be much of a problem for IdrA this time -- as a top 16 Open Bracket seed, he enters the MLG tournament in Open Winners Bracket Round 5 on Saturday morning, by which time his qualification for the World Championship will likely have been determined already (entire WCS Winners Bracket will be played on Friday, and there will be only 3 or 4 players left on Saturday, plus the consolation match for the 7th and final qualifying place).

No problem! You might want to check their twitch and own3d channels at around 17:30 GMT (+00:00) to see if they're streaming the early rounds of WCS prior to the beginning of the MLG broadcast.

Anyone know the caster lineup? MLG usually has it all over the place, but I don't see it in their various threads or the wiki.

Oh man, so psyched. Lots of Liquid players to watch. Gonna be a great tournament!

The lineup can be found in the Guide to the MLG Summer Championship:
Games will be cast by Day[9], Apollo, djWheat, TotalBiscuit, Mr Bitter, Rotterdam, Rob Simpson, Tim Frazier (Robin), Axeltoss, Kibbelz, and Adebisi (observer).

According to what @MLGLee said on Live on Three this week, the coverage of WCS should actually start at 1PM with WR1 via twitch and own3d streams and theen transition to MLG-live streamer at 5pm.
Where is da hype for your WCS, (North) Americans? And where is the calendar entry for it XD

Yea it is unusual that this MLG event plus the WCS is getting little notice on TL this time around. Cheers, hope for some great games in the WCS.

Does anyone have any links to the channels they will be showing it on?
Really looking forward to WCS NA and hope they don't skip too much of it to show the MLG matches

So, due to the format change, only a handful of group matches can be played before the open bracket is completely played out. And they are going to stream each of those group matches rather than any open bracket today? I'm not criticizing; I just want to make sure I understand the schedule.

Excited to be going to my first MLG. See you guys there! I hope it's a great tournament and that the stream works well for all you at home too!
