Playing IEM open bracket.
Ah okay - thanks!
But isn't WCS considerably more prestigious compared to IEM? Or is he going after the more guaranteed money in IEM haha.
mc might have done that for the money but what about mvp?
The IM coach did mention they were running an event there so there might have been some sponsor request. Also, many players skipped the qualifiers as well for MLG arena. Remember this is just the qualifiers for WCS Asia (unless you finish first which seeds you directly into global).
Random fact time: Seed, squirtle and Parting are the only players left in the upper bracket that qualified via gsl points. ro8 contains 2 code s champions ( polt counts damnit) & 2 code a champions ( I miss code a being a tournament)

I guess it would be enough for LG to have Nestea and Losira and maybe some other IM players there. I really don't get the point of taking the most successful SC2 player of all time out of the most prestigous competition of the year for some sponsor PR.

No it does not. That's just your biased opinion because ur a liquid fan or whatever.
Creator simply outplayed hero.
Might be true for game 3, but game 1 was just creator turning off his brain and in game 2 I don't see much skill in turtling on 3 bases and then a moving your colossi into your opponents third.
uh, he didn't amove, but whatever. Just because HerO did a more gimmicky style and got punished for it doesn't mean he played better than Creator.
Oh yeah shit I forgot the insane micro that goes into poking and setting up a decent concave. Hero obviously doesn't like to build the least micro intensive and most retarded unit in the game, gave his everything to make it work, and lost. IMO creator winning just showed how retarded pvp truly is.
You know, in a showmatch a few months ago it was Creator who used the aggressive blink-obs style to take apart HerO 3-0... I know it sucks watching one of your favorite players losing, but please, if it were HerO who were going robo and winning, you wouldn't be complaining for Creator.

I am not sure whether the Korean gamers take WCS as seriously as other countries. I mean, of course, they would still like to win and it is important. It might be more prestigious in other countries because it is their defacto national championship. But you already have OSL and GSL in Korea. It is not just MC, MVP. Players like Taeja also skipped the qualifiers for MLG Arena. Of course, being in the loser's bracket has something to do with it as well.
In terms of other sports, I think it is like NBA vs Olympics. For the others countries, they all view the Olympics the ultimate goal. For the US, of course they would like to win as well, but if you ask the players, they will probably tell you the NBA was more important.
