Which as silly as it sounds is a little disappointing. At least 1 should have been an interesting foreigner player like Scarlet. I mean it's not secret that foreigners enjoy watching foreigners play. You are also awarding players who can't be bothered to try out for the NASL through the open tournaments (though DRG did try in the wildcard tournament). Basically 12 foreigners are removed from the league and replaced by ~4 foreigners and ~8 koreans. tldr You should use the invites to bring in interesting players into the league. And what happened to the BitterDam Qualifier? while i agree that foreigner invites give more storyline etc., you have to remember that NASL has very very few Koreans in it. And because everybody somehow thinks that the more Koreans = the more legit the tournament is, you have to respect nasl's decision.
I am totally cool with now that I see that it's a ranked invite system. I was under the impression that it was more a 'Who would be really cool to add to our league' sort of invite.

November is a while haha http://www.beyondgaming.com/competition/tournament/view/yeieo looking at who has signed up so far I think it'll come down to minigun, scarlett, crank, or trimaster. Did I miss anyone really big? There's definitely some other people in there that can pull upsets off these players but I feel like those are the top four signed up so far. Well sC qualified for WCS Korea and has been code S before, none of the players you mentioned did that.
Also are there brackets?

Yeah but they announced the ranked invite system after the tournaments being considered were already completed. I <3 NASL but it seems like they probably just chose a system that would give them four fan favourites.

They did get 4 fan favourites though. However, when this system gives them some boring Koreans nobody is interested in, there might get some more flak

Which is why it will be interesting to see if they actually keep the system after this season. I hope they do but I will understand if they cave into the need for high profile players.

If you get enough points to be in the top 4, you are a fan favorite because it means you win (a lot)

That sure explains the top 5 streamers right now, Destiny, TLO, ProTech, KiLLeR and FitzyHere.
In other words, people don't only care about skill.
