Can someone explain how DRG had his third way earlier than Leenock, Leenock lost a ton of mutas to fungals, but ended up being perfectly fine right afterwards? Did I miss something? Don't really understand ZvZ too well.

I agree that ZvZ has evolved into a very tense matchup with a lot of different strategies and options. I hated the matchup always but now i begin to understand more and more about it.

Just tried the Ling-Infestor into a ton of Ultralisk style that Scarlett played at WCS Canada Finals in the second game and I easily overwhelmed my opponent. Just nice to have such a variety of strategies now.

THIS.

Too much real life right here.

Well fucking said sir. I couldn't put it better myself.

I hope his comeback will be nada levels of legendary. You know, him winning an OSL after his dad died and he basically quit playing for a while.

Well, I think DRG had a slight lead when he got Leenock to defend with mutas and his infestor popped. But then he tried to be aggressive with the Queen pull which failed and allowed Leenock to get a decent roach count. And I think DRG was hoping for an ultra infestor timing but that infestor snipe made it impossible and put DRG way behind. And Leenock didn't make any mistakes after that to let DRG back in.

Yeah he had to fungal the mutas even though it was so good for Leenock because as Wolf said "he doesnt care, the time for mutas is over" or something like that.

Edit: Moving out was probably the only real mistake DRG made that game. He played really well considering being behind after that until the end.

Yeah, the mutas soaked up the fungals. If DRG still had them, he probably could have pushed and won.

this is what happens to every single player who hits the #1 spot in this game. get too confident and then get complacent which eventually leads to a "slump" period. mma, mvp and now drg.

i feel bad that drg wont be playing in either of the finals at his hometown. but such is life

I think Leenock got pretty lucky in a lot of these matches, but he also showed amazing skill that allowed himself to take advantage of it.

DRG shouldn't have even been in that booth, should have sent Sniper out 4th, he is the hot one and doing much better against Zerg recently than the rest of the team.

Man that loss sucked the life out of me, horrible 2 days for DRG. I hope he gets a nice long break from SC2 now.

DRG lost a lot of queens when he had to pull back his army since he used the fungals on the mutas ( he was planning a ling/queen/infestor all in before Leenock got enough roaches and his own infestor out. DRG also didn't really mine much from his 3rd early on since he was building up for that all in. And later on, he got 25-30 lings fungaled on runbys.

MMA doesn't need to find a new team. He just needs to patch things up with his current one.

Also, wtf MVP? No Monster or Sniper? Why would you rely so heavily on TAiLS and Lure?

Somehow I doubt he's going to patch things up with Slayers but here's hoping he can.

I agree on Lure. He didn't seem to have a snipe strat and could not be expected to win against Leenock, as far as I know.

I am not sure if it is complacency. SC2 is still pretty volatile and when you are number #1, you have a big target on your back. And your play will get studied a lot more. This is slightly different from BW where your opponent can only see your PL games and SL games. With sc2, there is the gsl, Korean online tournaments, foreign events, foreign event qualifiers, etc. how many vods can you get of Flash BW games compare to IMMVP games in 2012 ( and IMMVP actually plays a lot less tournaments than most top Korean pros)

Well, to Tails's credit, he sniped Tear who's one of FXO's most dangerous players. Lure, though, not sure what was up with that. Definitely would have preferred to see Sniper in retrospect.

The biggest shock here is that MVP didn't play Sniper; even more of a shock than DRG losing to Leenock! Especially after watching Sniper in the IPL TAC!
