Grats to Suppy for qualifying. I hope he does well. This is shaping up to be a pretty good tournament. Can't wait until it starts! Hopefully one of the two Americans can make a run. So many good players going O_o
Last few invites are great as well, but to echo the previous posters sentiments, I really would have liked to see a few more Terrans to balance the screen time of matchups a bit. Foreign tournaments have been a bit monotone with their matchups lately and I don't see it changing here. Sure, considering the skill of the Terran invites, they might get pretty far into the tournament, but a huge amount of matches will still be PvZ or Z/P mirrors.
It's not as obvious as the GSL TvT times, but it's still noticable, we'll see how it turns out.
RoX.KIS having the most players in attendance, together with EG, that's something I didn't expect.
Really great player list, can't wait for the tournament to start.

Is his team even sending him there? And who's paying for Violet's trip?
Cool lineup, definitely gonna watch. This'll be the next tournament won by EU.

It's because there are far, far, far, FAR more good foreign zergs and protoss, than terrans.
Strelok, Brat_OK, Happy, Goody etc etc could swap some Protosses to Terran to have a bit more even Race count, but well We have to live with PvZ Z/P mirror fest for now

At least there's some good up and comers invited, like Welmu and Protosser
Without invites race balance might have been even worse than it is now. It is sad that they didn't invite more terrans. Not sure why.

And why is not that because game is not balanced? Terrans were dominating EU 2010 and early 2011, but now every terran that used to dominate has disapeared.

Kinda sad, looks like Blizz wants to create a game of 2 races. Its great to see so many new up and coming players but it would be nice if at least ONE of them was a terran.
Sick playerpool. Sad about only 6 terrans. Too much pvzzzzzzzz lately everywhere. They should have invited more terrans, wasnt too hard to guess no terrans would qualify.
It wouldn't make much of a difference to have 4-6 more terrans in because they would just probably drop out in the first group stage unless there's 3 terrans in a same group. The online qualifiers both had 10 terrans (almost 1/3 of players in a 32 player tournament) but none got through. Besides, the invites are firstly decided by players' results, not by their race. I'm also sad about the state of terran at the moment, but don't complain about the tournament, complain about the game instead.

Even with the racial distribution, I can see it becoming more even as the tournament progresses, as the Terrans that are here seem quite capable (happened in WCS Canada)
Also, no sase Lots of other awesome players though

Thats certainly an interesting decision. I cant say im a fan of the format but (correct me if I have the wrong event) I can understand it after the public outrage they had put on them following the Brat_OK vs Stephano's shambles they had last year. Still think its a mental way to run a group stage though lol XD
Remember that the invites include only players that have requested an invite. If a player is missing, it might be that he simply did not want to, or could not for some reason, attend this event.
Is there any event that has NOT MC in it. His schedule is seriously ridiculous. And the line-up to this event is awesome, I'm very much looking forward to this one.
Bad news for SC2 fans attending Assembly in person:
Because Assembly is celebrating its 20th anniversary there's quite a bit more action on the main stage and therefore no games, not even the finals, are going to be played on the main stage.
Additionally the tournament itself is held in the Karjala cave restaurant but even though there are two small stages they're only for GD Studio's broadcasting and according to the tournament organizers there's not even going to be a screen/display(s) to follow the games from for the audience which is disturbing.
EDIT: You're able to follow the games from smaller screens (check Azhrak's post below).
Wow that blows. There has to be a place at Assembly where the GD guys can put a screen and some chairs for the audience right? My hype for this event is definitely gone if there won't be a live crowd...

GD Studio is just organizing the show. If I recall correctly the Cave Restaurant is twice as bigger as the Powerplay restaurant where the tournament was held last time but I'd say about half of it is reserved for Sett.fi's other tournaments (CS 1.6 for example).
Not having the finals on the main stage sucks alot. Last year it was EPIC to watch Dimaga winning it all in person.

Only the ASUS ROG tournament is in the Karjala "cave" restaurant, so there's plenty of room compared to last Assembly Summer. The only bad part is that there is no big screens for the audience and no TV screens above the players to duplicate their monitors. Players' monitors can be viewed behind them however. Some smaller screens/monitors, tables and chairs are provided for the audience. On site, there's also always a chance to chat with the casters, hosts and players. Like the announcements here have said, this time the event is aiming at a studio feel rather than a stadium feel.

Good to get that cleared. It sounded pretty unbelievable anyway.
