Man, DRG did not look (physically) healthy in those games at all! Those mid-game pushes he did were amazingly half-hearted, and MC just strong-armed him three times in a row!

MC going to the grand finals! Yesssss, this is going to be so epic! I can't wait to see it!

Yeah. Very poor decision making from him in those games. That did not look like DRG at all. Even in game 3 he kept feeding little bits of army to MC instead of just sacrifing the 3rd, consolidating and then going after MCs army. While I thought seed deserved his final spot I feel MC lucked out by facing DRG on a bad day for him.

What universe do you live in where Stephano stomped MC at NASL? It was 4-2, and the games MC won were completely one-sided and the losses were generally close and decided by one misplay. Maybe you should consider the possibility that one series doesn't determine who the better player is?

Seriously, I knew the second DRG lost the rest of this LR would be about Stephano. Remember, losing one series makes you the inferior player. Such as Byun beating Seed in groups but falling 3-1 in the ro4. Or MC 3-0'ing DRG one day at an MLG then getting 3-0'd or 3-1'd the next day. And 3-0'ing him today, because DRG is clearly a scrub. So on and so on. The best player in the world is decided every single new series played apparently, because if you don't have a 100% win rate you are nothing.

Actually, since Syz beat mana 2-0 and mana beat Stephano 2-0, Syz has the best ZvP. You could really see the difference between Syz and Stephano from those series.

Not surprising DRG went down 3-0. DRG didn't look too strong against Naniwa, despite Naniwa being weakest in PvZ.

And I don't know why people are so quick to discredit Stephano. His ZvP is probably best in the world, and he continually proves that. The one loss in ZvP that stands out recently as surprising is when he lost to Mana... other than that he has continued to do well against the best, including against MC... a protoss who many call the best PvZer.

It's almost as if some people are like "Oh please Stephano can't be better than a Korean in a match up... it must all be hype despite him having the results."

MC also looked to be playing a considerable amount better than he did at NASL3 or HSCV, specifically his reactions to the attempted roach pressure at his third on Ohana. The two forcefield concaves he made perfectly in a millisecond while running away were truly reminiscent of him in his prime.

No one is discrediting him, I'm just annoyed by people who feel the need to come into a thread and randomly talk about how he's so amazing. I don't see anyone in here saying that Stephano hasn't done well in ZvP or that he's a top zerg. It's just complete fanboying---I"ll be the first to admit I'm a huge MC fanboy but I don't go into random threads and go "MC would have beat this guy/beat him recently, MC is better than [player]nowadays wow, best PvZ/PvT/PvP in the world." It's just obnoxious. Stephano fans are replacing the rabid IdrA fanboys of 2011.

Stephano only had NASL while MC had GSL NASL and homestory.
Stephano didn't have to hide strategies/builds for GSL semi-finals.
MC had a winning record against Stephano before the event.
MC has won 3 tournaments and 2 thirds place finishes and most likely a GSL win. Stephano has had maybe 2/3 tournament wins and WCS France was kind of weak.

Stephano beating MC 4-2 does NOT mean that he is the superior player....jeeze.

I don't know if this was addressed earlier in the thread (I'm just now catching the VODs, just finished the Seed vs Byun series) but what was the small screen in Byun's booth? It was hard to tell but it looked like it had the stream on it.

I never said he was better than MC. I was just making a point that it is fair to believe his ZvP is the best in the world. People are free to disagree, but I don't see why people seem to discredit it as if it isn't even a possibility.

i'm not even in his fan club please try again. i was actually rooting for MC to win.

stephano has had nothing but consistent results and that's all i care about. he's one of the top zergs and that's all there is to it. is he better than MC or DRG? MC beat him at red bull, but stephano got his revenge, so only time will tell. however, he is definitely able to win against a gsl champion no problem.
