Why should we consider that a prepared match takes more skill than a not prepared one when there is money on the table for both? You can be unlucky on one serie or have a bad day but it's not different for GSL or 3 days tourneys. GSL is always filled with the absolute best players in the world. Other international tournaments are good, but they don't have the consistency, skill level, and excitement of the GSL. Stephano's ZvP is just as good if not better at ZvP than DRG, and Nerchio is probably the second best foreigner right now.

The level of competition (and format) in the GSL is so much harder than that of any other tournament so no i don't think GSL is overrated.

Nerchio is an amazing player, but you have to do more than be "good" online and win HSC to be the second best foreigner. Naniwa has made it to gsl ro8 twice in a row. I dislike Naniwa a lot, but still admit that he's one of the best players in the world. PvZ is by far his worse match up and he still pushed DRG to the 7th game. If he could have played any of the other players in the top 8 he probably would have advanced. As much as I hate to admit it, he's damn good, and its an insult to not say he's one of the top two foreigners.

MC lost to DRG in spring championship. People stating that Stephano is better then DRG. I feel isn't a great argument due to the way the tournaments are ran. One is 3 day event. Another is a week off to study your opponent before you play them. I feel if MC had a week prepare for stephano it would be a different story. I do think MC is a better player at GSL type events where as DRG and Stephano are better then MC at MLG & NASL events where it is a 3 day straight event. -The old stephano I would have said is terrible against Terran, But the new Stephano ( since ipl 4) has been on an incredible run against terran, like literally the only series he has dropped since then was against marineking.. He is silently an absolute monster in ZvT right now. So again i would say Stephano and DRG are about the same good against Terran . What happened, in the last two months, that could have possibly made Stephano suddenly very good against Terran? ....I wonder.

I mean really Byun? Pull scv's on ATLANTIS SPACESHIP? When you're that far ahead? Just expand and play defensively for 4-5 minutes and then roll him over with your massive supply and upgrade lead -_-.

Well Stephano seems to be getting better and better since he debuted, so maybe he's spending more time practicing, and/or making his practice more effective.

PvP at the highest level with the highest stakes has the potential to teach a LOT of new stuff about the matchup, and both players are great PvPers. PvP is my favorite mirror to watch now; it's going much longer than it used to, has the perfect balance of aggression early on with macro later on, and has an insane number of legitimately viable openers. I admit, I don't like mirror matches in finals, but if it had to be one, I'm glad it's PvP. GoMTvT had it's year and change, and ZvZ is just boring to watch unless you play Zerg. Plus a Protoss GSL champion will probably put a damper on Toss whining about being weak, and any reduction of whining is a good thing IMO. Biased much? I won't watch the finals because I think PvP is dull. "PvP is just boring to watch unless you play Protoss", see what I did there? edit: I might watch the finals regardless, but I won't go out of my way like dropping a shift from work/canceling any plans. Personally I want Seed to win, but I'm really not a huge fan of either player right now.
