MC said right after the games that he misread Nerchio. And I think he does what he should have done with Nerchio today. Bait zerg to be aggressive with a fast 3rd and only go out after you wear down larva count. I wonder what he'd do if zerg would just play passive-ish when seeing P 3rd, get a 4th and beacon/stargates?

DRG would crush Stephano in ZvZ.

Stephano might be the best in the world, but he has to prove it in Korea. I think he would acknowledge that much. That said, I do think his ZvP is the best already, I doubt that's very controversial after what he did at the NASL

I have seen Seed play PvP and it's really good, but so is MC. I think it can go either way, but I expect to see hallucinations! :D

Agreed. This community is so fickle. Even if someone is 70% favored to win, he can even get 3-0'd...it's just the way it works, no one is guaranteed a victory just by being the better player in any sport. There is always a factor of mind games, luck, getting hardcountered, one of the people having a bad day, etc. That's why it gets somewhat frustrating to hear someone declare a player the best in the world. MC v Stephano could have been a 4-2 the other way around if MC had a slightly better composition in game 1 versus the mass ling remax, and if he hadn't been caught in a bad position after being up 20 workers in the game on Ohana, yet people are saying MC got "crushed" in that series as if Stephano just completely outclassed him in every way.

In game one he could have gone to 90 drones and 4-5 bases but instead he built corrupters off of 65 drones and made something close to an all-in attack but thats how the medi game looks for text book zvp play. make units for defensive purposes in case toss goes 2base or cancels his 3rd etc and if he doesnt attack trade your units with toss while trading while not overcommiting to attacking.
hes playing exactly like people say zergs should play o,o cant just make pure drones in that period then the obs sees that and toss cancels nexus and rolls over greedy zerg
this might be crazy talk but perhaps mc showed bad pvz in NASL on purpose knowing drg would feel overconfident and design strats around those games

You can't be best anything in SC2 without playing the GSL. I say bullshit. There is a lot of big tournaments in the world ATM and this is a beauty of SC2. Who says you need to win GSL to be relevant? Stephano is the best proof of this. It is actually really uncomfortable for foreigners to start in GSL, add to this cultural and language barriers and I would say there is nothing wrong for them to stay in Europe and play in local tournaments. For me GSL is just another good, big tournament next to MLG and Dreamhack - and results from these two are for me as important as for GSL. Lol comparing MLG and DH to Code S in terms of difficulty is laughable.

Maybe you can say Stephano is the best (or among the best) when it comes to tournaments and matches where you can't prepare your opponent one week in advance... Still, he's not proven what he's made of when competing against an opponent who studied his style for one week... (The Blizzcup wasn't enough, though he performed well despite his 3 place finish). Stephano has only won one premier tournament this year, he's only getting all this hype because it was the most recent one. Let's not forget he also only had to play his best match up in PvZ to win the tournament.
Exactly... I don't remember his ZvZ, and the only time I got to see his ZvT this year... MMA gently caressed him in the rear.

IMO he's proved he's the best player outside Korea, and a top 5 Zerg in the world. Probably top 4 actually, along with DRG, NesTea and Symbol. To climb any higher up that list will either require total domination of everything outside Korea, or GSL results.

MC beat Seed convincingly in Up/Downs, but it was a Bo1 on Dual Sight and MC made a hidden Nexus.

I think it would be fair to say Stephano probably has the best PvZ in the world. Hard to say how good he is since the mo'fo' needs to get into the GSL ASAP.
