No

You are not the best because you beat the best. A no-name who beasts flash isn't the best. Browns are not the best because they beat Giants and Denmark is not the best soccer team in the world because they beat Spain. Determining who is the best is all about consistency. Stephano has proven he is currently the best Z outside Korea imo. Nothing more than that.

Maybe you can say Stephano is the best (or among the best) when it comes to tournaments and matches where you can't prepare your opponent one week in advance...

Still, he's not proven what he's made of when competing against an opponent who studied his style for one week...

(The Blizzcup wasn't enough, though he performed well despite his 3 place finish).

He is not even the best at any kind of tournament. He is just a great player with exceptional ZvP. Whether it's GSL or "A tournament you can't prepare" there's people who achieved more than him.

Could Stephano possibly be the next Zerg bonjwa?! o.O

I think so guys

OMFG

First he actually has to dominate with 80%+ winrate for 2+ years... in Korea. So what does he need. Well he needs better winrate... He needs it IN KOREA... and he needs, oh that's right 2 years... Meaning 0% Bonjwa. Jeez such a comment is stupid.

Are you Romanian?

No why. You can look up to see where I am from.

Danish by origin, Romanian by heart

So, really. Stephano best ZvP atm ?

You can't be best anything in SC2 without playing the GSL.

I say bullshit.

There is a lot of big tournaments in the world ATM and this is a beauty of SC2. Who says you need to win GSL to be relevant? Stephano is the best proof of this.

It is actually really uncomfortable for foreigners to start in GSL, add to this cultural and language barriers and I would say there is nothing wrong for them to stay in Europe and play in local tournaments.

For me GSL is just another good, big tournament next to MLG and Dreamhack - and results from these two are for me as important as for GSL.

There is no tournament as hard as GSL. It is a big difference if you win some foreign tournaments or the GSL. It's a big gap in skill.

I cant remember when MC lost a PvP in important match.

I have seen Seed play PvP and it's really good, but so is MC. I think it can go either way, but I expect to see hallucinations! :D

Actually i would as far as to say that MC's best match-up is not PvZ, it is actually PvP. We ll see however, one more win for dat.

Saying more preparation will help koreans against Stephano is not true.. Stephano is already the most studied foreigner and all the koreans know his playstyle and they have been trying to figure out ways to beat him for a long time now but what has the result been?

Agreed. This community is so fickle. Even if someone is 70% favored to win, he can even get 3-0'd...it's just the way it works, no one is guaranteed a victory just by being the better player in any sport. There is always a factor of mind games, luck, getting hardcountered, one of the people having a bad day, etc. That's why it gets somewhat frustrating to hear someone declare a player the best in the world. MC v Stephano could have been a 4-2 the other way around if MC had a slightly better composition in game 1 versus the mass ling remax, and if he hadn't been caught in a bad position after being up 20 workers in the game on Ohana, yet people are saying MC got "crushed" in that series as if Stephano just completely outclassed him in every way.

Fantasy 3-0ing Flash.
Rerember anyone???

How far can you be from truth? Flash was having signs of weakness. His achievements in TvT 2 years prior were worth nothing. Capish?

First time seeing him this down. Even when he lost in the GSL rounds and even in the Blizz Cup/MLG, he didn't look as depressed.

Well at this point it's really sad to say...but PvZ is better than TvZ to watch. TvZ used to be so fun before all the stupid nerfs with constant back and forth action and good late-game battles with a lot of micro and usually 3+ base play.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
