Was happy to see Demuslim play Bio, its what I am trying on ladder. Does WCS release replays?

Naniwa just tweeted. I hope recco/zik gets opportunity to put him in his place Sweden is clearly a much better country overall for SC2 so he has a point.

Naniwa just tweeted. I hope recco/zik gets opportunity to put him in his place TBH there is something to it. I feel the brits really surprised and are putting on a great display, but almost everyone predicted this to be bling + demu + random, while sweden has quite a heavy lineup in Naniwa, thorzain, jinro, morrow, lalush, haypro, cytoplasm, sjow, seiplo, merz, bischu, plus surprise randoms. Did you not mention Sase? He is good enough to atleast be mentioned in my opinion.
Sweden has strong esports pressense unlike UK and all thos players you listed from Sweden all are known players on top teams.
WCS seems to be about bringing unknown talent to light I would say Sweden doesn't deserve extra spots because Sweden has dreamhacks, gather'ings and a lot of eyes looking at Swedish talent, that a lot of talent in other countries are getting missed

Extended series involves continuing score from when players have already met in a tournament. It's an extended series regardless, its a rule which has 2 different criteria for it to apply In the Grand Final, an extended series occurs when the finalist coming from the losers' bracket wins the first best of three.Quoted from MLG. Actually its still slightly different.
If two players have never met before meet in the GF then - If the player from the WB wins the first Bo3, he wins - If the player from the LB wins the first Bo3, the score remains, and the series becomes a Bo7
In a standard double elim you have - WB player wins first Bo3, he wins - LB players wins first Bo3, brand new Bo3 begins

That's not what Extended Series means at the MLG. MLG's rule is that if the same players have played before, the score from the first set is kept. Yep, this is simply double elimination tournament.

Stop talking about extended series if you dont know what it is.
And of course it is not going to be used here. Thats an MLG only idiocy, as everyone with common sense gets what a nonsense it is.

Redeye is an awesome host, just feels like he belongs in that role and makes it look so effortless. Definately need to get this guy to more events.
Also 20k viewers I think shows that WCS can hold it's own, no need to make it sideshow at some other major event like at MLG.

Wait what? Sweden doesn't deserve WCS spots because we host other tournaments, helping grow esports? You are so clever.

Artosis interview “I didn’t think the UK players were this good”
Amen. Case Closed the Guru has spoken.

So they turned out to be very good? Or are you saying that because Artosis thought poorly of them, they stack up less.

What is fun and what is less fun with the WCS casting has been that the tournaments have been less fantastic players. It shows off a lot of untapped talent and broadens the base of competetive play, but unfortunately it's rare that it's very exciting to watch or that we get to see something new and amazing.

The guy choosing the music deserves a medal or something.

Sweden is easily the strongest Euro SC2 nation that's not really in doubt.
But that's no reason to shit on another country. A korean could easily tweet at white people and laugh how any of us except stephano are given WCS slots at all for a tournament for the best. It's a world tournament, UK has ~ as many people as Sweden they're allowed to have their players represent.
WCS isn't about finding the best people anyway, it's about awesome events like this and energising each nation's individual local scene. For Australia so far it's been pretty fucking cool, and I'd imagine it's been great for all the other nations. The UK's one has looked, from what little I've watched, to be fucking amazing too.

the Gathering is in Norway... also unknown players are unknown for a reason most of the time.... I can also tell you that Zikto isn't that good actually, he probably just handles the situation very well and doesn't have any issues playing live in front of many people. JRecco is a much better player overall compared to Ziktomini. Sweden also has rather unknown players who are really good, someone who comes to mind is SortOf. Its actually harder to get noticed as a swedish player because they have so many good players.

I think the UK is delivering, and there are other nations with much more questionable talent, but if it was based on merit the UK should not get as many spots as Sweden.

Why does it have to be a contest between what country has the best players? I enjoy this tournament and I will enjoy the Swedish tournament.
If people feel like the swedes has more talent, well should they not welcome weaker competition? I like this WCG styled event where everybody has a shot to get in and be a big name. Just because they are not famous does not mean they don't have talent. I think the only difference is that Sweden has alot more established players but if we are gonna look at only that kind of logic South Korea should have somewhere between 20 - 400 spots (obviously exaggerating).
Either way, enjoy the games and be happy we get to see some (to me atleast) unknown players play some entertaining starcraft 2
