10 pool is epicly dumb and easy to defend as stephano clearly showed yesterday. Violet was so scared and insecure he tried a cheap shot and failed. He played really good in the first 2 matches abusing stephano with mutas since he knew steph never goes for mutas or hidras but that 3rd match 10pool was patethic.

Oh yeah. The guys that hate cheese because they were denied 20 minutes of exciting macro followed by the one big battle.
Still, even if he was "one of them", 10 pool just isn't cheese in ZvZ. It just means there'll be early ling bling pressure, but I'm sure I've seen macro out of it often.

10 pool should put you ahead 100% of the time against hatch first, Stephano won because of his good micro, Violet's poor execution, poor follow-up and a bit of luck. Its a perfectly good opening.

The only players I wouldn't favor Stephano against (assuming he didn't go out drinking last night) would be Squirtle and Taeja. I don't understand why people think Parting is this zvp beast; look at his match history and Elo. Ret's gas timings were too late and he's never been the best about army positioning and engagements. (To give Parting some credit, it was a very crisply executed all in). Stephano's beaten the Parting push with his roach max (and lost as well) but if he suspects it's coming he'll go ling heavy with double upgrades, a few roaches and early infestors which completely owns that build. If it goes to late game, only Squirtle has the multitasking to beat him but Squirtle didn't look his invincible self against Ret.
Taeja just is really, really impressive in zvt. Stephano, however, seems to have figured out the match up over the past few weeks so I think it will be close.

there is nothing wrong with 10 pooling, it's called mind games. yea it doesn't always work out, but mind games exist in sc2 and mind games are the most important factor.

The surprising thing was not the 10-pool, it was stephano winning the game with 15-hatch, 16-pool against a 10-pool.. ^^
