I find it rather satisfying since all the utterly overrated, fanboyism-blessed players got annihilated real hard. In fact it's one of the more entertaining GSL quarterfinals for me Huh, how can you say that the fanboyism blessed players got annhilated when hero took out supernova?
SuperNova wasnt the fan favorite but still has overrated TvP, he always sucks under pressure, even on foreign tournaments.

It is actually very interesting to watch a pro gamer play mech in TvP.
The thing is that it is quite clear that attack timings , exact compositions and a lot of other details are figured out yet.
But every time you watch a TvP game you kinda get this feeling that the protoss army trades a little bit too well with the mech army. Beefier thors would help I think.

In fact it's one of the more entertaining GSL quarterfinals for me Oz and Supernova aren't even that popular, and Taeja is hardly known for having rabid fanboys that players like Hero, MKP, or Stephano have. Unless you were talking specifically about Naniwa... Nah, despite not liking the foreigner hype, I find Nani pretty ok, just not in GSL settings Oz is the kind of solidly mediocre players who somehow manages to progress deeply every single time (with some luck and PvPs ofc). SN is not that bad but most of his games gave me heartattack (and his TvP is unwatchable) Then we got Liquid'Taeja, king of the weekly, top3 terrans, royal roader etc. I dont buy into that bs, you should stop after reading that clantag as well.

LOL MVP has had a billion fanboys riding his dick ever since his GSL dominance and Hero has a good bunch as well because he is on teamliquid. Not to mention Parting since everyone thinks hes the new protoss prez.
I simply cannot agree with your statement.

Oz's PvPs were actually his downfall this season. He progressed on good, solid PvT with some nice innovative builds. His PvZ ain't bad either. But hey, I'm an Oz fan xD

You would need Maps that give you easy to defend 3 bases but hard to take more than 3 . If the Toss gets too big of an economy your dead with mech your army is slightly more cost effiecent than the Gateway stuff but way harder to replace.
There's a reason Goody stopped meching it just doesn't work all that well against Toss even with Ghosts. Your army is too slow , its almost impossible to securely take more than 3 bases and the damage mech does is not even any better than bio. Hell thanks to Medivacs Bio can take alot more hits.

i agree. there are hundreds of people who will praise MVP and proclaim him the best player in the world even if he plays a poor series and wins by using bitbybit tactics.
just imagine the reaction here on TL if Bitbybit had defeating naniwa (the only foreigner in GSL) by using the same builds MvP did. Yet, since its MVP, its smart and innovative.

PvP is a matchup, not a segment of the game. -_-
What is Squirtle specifically better at, skill wise?
Timing attacks and better understanding of the match-up. When it comes to mechanics and multitasking, Squirtle can basically sit down, it's not even within the realm of possibility that he can match HerO in those. And that's not something you can learn in a week either. I know you're a massive liquid fanboy, but you're speaking completely out of your ass rofl. Not to mention that Talin conveniently ignored my mentioning of Squirtle's PvZ, which involves Squirtle doing stuff all over the map in ultra-lategame scenarios. Maybe he should address that point instead of conveniently ignoring it. Yup looks like someone didn't watch the IPL4 replays. =D People like Talin give players a bad name, and it is sad to see sometimes. I don't consider IPLs and MLGs all that relevant due to the format/density of games being played and no prep time, but I have seen it and it wasn't anything that a lot of Protoss don't do anyway, and certainly not something that HerO doesn't do a lot better (especially considering it's PvZ). I'm prepared to get myself banned from TL if HerO doesn't dismantle Squirtle in every game that's not a straight up BO win (DT rush or Oz's nexus first from yesterday). And do tell how format/density/prep time has ANYTHING to do with multitasking, which you keep claiming Squirtle lacks? I'm just gonna reiterate what Asha said: You're talking out of your ass. Because those tournaments are usually about which player is in the best shape for the weekend after days of traveling, whereas most players don't really end up playing to the best of their ability (including mechanical ability) throughout the tournament. So, if Squirtle is multitasking like a beast and other players aren't playing well, it suddenly means that his good multitasking somehow doesn't mean anything? Your logic is so twisted that it's difficult to even argue with you. Anyway, I think Hero is perfectly capable of beating Squirtle, but by stats alone, Squirtle is quite favored. `
You're trying to come up with a logic that will make Squirtle's mechanics and multitasking equal to HerO's, you need to do a lot more mental gymnastics than I do. Squirtle's got a mediocre progamer-level multitasking. It is NOT how he gets his wins in any matchup. He's not horrible at it because he wouldn't be a progamer if he were. But he's not anywhere even near the top mechanically either.
I get it, you've seen him do something that involved looking away from your growing main army in a few games. I've seen Goody do multi-pronged Banshee harass in one game, I've seen him micro Reapers in two places on Tal Darim in another. Building a coherent argument out of that being a sign of a genius and comparing it to a player who basically built his entire success so far on having superior control and multitasking to make up and make his way out of basically every bad spot he gets in is borderline ridiculous.
I've seen both series against NesTea at IPL and I honestly can't even remember anything special, I hope you're not referring to sniping the third with 3 DTs you're not even watching.

Goody might not be the guy with good enough mechanics to use it at its best. Has anyone checked if he has a higher win percentage after switching to bio ?
MKP and vileIllusion have been meching some lately in TvP. They have slightly different styles though, as MKP tends to favor really fast double forge upgrades, while illusion delays his upgrades for quite some time.
The double upgrades tells you that his play is long term focused, so don't come and tell me that he is just doing some gimmicky shit hoping to catch the protoss off guard.
In the games it is very clear though that the mech style needs to be explored as the players often push at the wrong times with too little units or with wrong unit compositions.

Bit by Bit marine/scv'd because it was all he did.
MVP marine/scv'd because he knew naniwa was weak to it.
Very important difference.
Koreans study their opponents a ton when it comes to series play and for this reason tend to metagame the shit out of each other. This makes reading their games extremely frustrating because you don't know what's 'good' and what is an unusual move designed to shank a specific player.

PvP nooooooooooooooooooo ='(
Sad zealot for a different reason lol.
Seriously though, PvP was more skillful and entertaining in the days of 4 gate wars...at least it was intense micro over a period of time...now its just reverted into armies are essentially unbeatable until giant aoe war that involves pretty much little or no micro past spreading out units. Only time PvP can remain interesting past 1 base is when you have those mid game blink stalker battles with moving in and out/harssing. Past that its dull. The foreign pros are the ones who whined endlessly about 4 gate wars because they couldnt compete with that style of play...
I just laughed really hard when I read partings interview yesterday " i just put my gateway units on attack move and microed my immortals" How is this the standard in that matchup so far into this game? I shudder to think at a Gom PvP final..
MVP needs to suck up his injury and save this season for us. The true hero we all deserve!
