Hilariously, MKP is 5th in every matchup. Of course, ELO is more or a "weighted average", so it reflects on his pre-2012 performances as well.
In conclusion--Squirtle is the best player in the world!

Who? Is that Alica's or Puzzles new name or just another protoss hype? MC is and will always be be protoss in world. His bank account proves it. His longevity proves it.

MKP DRG MMA MC Nestea MVP
*Without recent wins, I'd even argue that the old trifecta of MVP, Nestea, and MC is losing steam*
MC won IEM WC last month...

Ya, this tournaments format was lame from a competitive standpoint. Normally you can't have every player play everyone else, so you have to have a structure where they widdle it down until only two remain.... but in this MLG everyone literally played everyone else within the first 2 days and it was clear MKP was the best player.
The third day was just like a separate tournament where DRG proved to be slightly better than MKP.
MKP didn't win, but he left with the most victories....It felt a lot more important than it was. The grand finals was only a difference of $2000 in winnings.... it doesn't make a dent in the SC2earnings.com
Thorzain and Polt both made out better, winning 11k and 6k respectively.

agree that MC is the most dominant Protoss, but dont count out Squirtle, hes really turning heads this year with his solid all around play and will to fight down big players (IPL came all the way through Open bracket to the finals)

Hiv vT historically has been pretty bad (its still sub 50%), but his games vs aLive say that he's not too bad at it.

I think MMA was the other big name he took down.

But, I've watched a few minutes of the free cast and now I'm watching the free Dr. Pepper stream and I gotta say.. MLG is a solid step above everyone else, save GSL but not by much. They're really utilizing the fact that its a weekend long tournament to their advantage, with constant games and good in depth analysis by pros. In fact, I'm definitely going to buy the next "premium pass" for the next one of these just for the pro analyses. The QXC/Josh combo is actually REALLY good, even though they were probably thrown in the pit together last minute. That said, my point is that no matter who's doing it this type of analysis is always going to be awesome as long as you have one affluent pro and another guy with good charisma asking appropriate questions.
Anyways I've been rambling but I feel like this is a big moment in the SC2 tournament scene. Its like watching that new edgy TV show and thinking "this is revolutionary! This will change TV!". Getting down to the nitty griddy of ONE race (note to Day9: doing analysis from both perspectives isn't so hot for basic players) exposes how deep and complex SC2 gameplay at high levels is and will make people appreciate regular games much more. This is what I've been looking for: a cross between GSL and HomeStory Cup, and MLG has delivered. Thanks! qxc was a lot of fun and will tell you Terran always win....always....

Elo rating is the only objective way to compare relative skill level between players. Well, maybe not the only, but the best we have right now. It has it's pitfalls such as the ability to "protect" ones' rating, but pro-players can't really do that and train/compete rigorously at the same time.

DongRaeGu played so much better on day3 than day2. I think jetlag and stress really plays a factor in his performance. I am so happy he pulled through.

MKP has shown since GSL 2 that he's always a threat to win the whole thing... any day, any time any place. This MLG did nothing in my mind prevent him from being the favorite in every tournament he enters in 2012.
DRG can beat him 4 out of 7, but MKP showed he can beat everyone and if you think about it, he's been showing us that since called himself Boxer. The fact that he's been around as long as he has, and he's at his peak now, is scary for everyone else. I promise you that.
He is, and remains, the man!

It's definitely not the best objective way if it takes into account games from more than half a year ago. Consider how fast SC2 meta games are changing, and how volatile and inconsistent most players are, those games literally mean zip.
