Viewers want exiting story lines involving players they can relate to. Upsets, disappointments, rivalries... It's just harder to relate to yet another superb Korean player. Who can tell apart Ganzi or Heart by looking at their answers in an interview? Hardly anyone, because it's just harder to get a handle on their personalities, due to the language and culture gap. All exist in the Korean scene....

No doubt you connect amazingly to Nerchio? Can't speak for anyone else, but I find MC, DRG and MarineKing considerably more interesting than any foreigner and connect to them just fine.

This has been a great weekend for MLG and for the players. Outside of the bad kick offs to the days (and we're not happy about this at all and are talking extensively to Twitch to make sure it never happens again), I feel like we put on a pretty awesome show. For the hours we were on, there was virtually zero down time, even with no ads being served. I hope you guys liked it! So it does not get buried.

So MKP vs DRG isn't the best rivalry for you? How about Parting vs MKP after the GSTL finals. Honestly, the better players come first for me, the better games always take priority. I don't care if they are Korean, I can relate to each and every player just fine. Why do they have to be a foreigner for me to relate to them?

As you said, there was no down time execpt for the obvious 5min set up, and high quality no lag stream, great games great casting great inisght from pro players, MLG put on an awesome show this weekend.

Even though its still much more likely that dreamhack is way ahead in viewers I thought I would mention it. Also keep in mind im sure some people are watching MLG via restream nonsense. Either way I enjoyed my MLG event so far ^_^ and dreamhack as well

This tournament has been amazing, just like the last Arena. The players, casters, analysis and the games have all been great. The live-report thread hasn't been bustling with people, but I've had a great time watching this weekend.
