Doesn't really matter who the protoss is, the zerg HAS to sit back and tech up in order to kill the protoss. Ret maybe could have won quicker by going for drop tech or something, but there was no way to finish the game off at 74 vs 175 supply, because the matchup is broken. Not in terms of balance, but in terms of how it is FORCED to play out in that sort of situation.
In any of the 8 other possible situations where one race has more than double the supply of the other race, they can just walk into the opposition base and stomp them down. ZvP is the one matchup where you can't, basically.

That doesn't explain Ret's terrible engagement at Genius' third.
No it explains why Genius stayed alive after his 2 base all in. Hi random stuff.

Lol..no..he just needed burrow movement earlier.

Down 80 supply and won the engagement.
who cares, ret was on 5 bases with a huge bank and a spine crawler wall.
Roaches are god awful units, I'm sure Ret knew he would take losses but it wouldn't matter because he could remax several times.

He had enough Stalkers to defend drops. Shakuras is like the ultimate turtle map.

For some reason, "King of Drones" sounds quite a bit less badass than "King of Marines".

Ouch, antiga. No fourth for you Ret!

Let's just hope nobody will be named "King of Stalkers".

he as good as won g1. only reason he lost was 1 silly decision. imo, you could compare his loss to move commanding into an army.
i think the great white hopes are currently: stephano, naniwa, huk, and ret.

You're so smart, you know these guys better than they know themselves. You should be genius coach.

Genius should have gone nexus first.

Random stuff? and sorry, I quoted the wrong post...

I hate this map because I always do that as well. The gap between the forge and the nexus is so deceiving

I want Genius to win this tournament so maybe he's gonna get some motivation out of it. He could be on top of the world if only he takes his training seriously, his teammates have said that he doesn't do that a lot of the time.

But would a Genius even need a coach? I mean isn't he a....Genius?
