What's this song that's playing during Supernova's victory?

Solid play Supernova, Impressive Naniwa
Code S was interesting today.

One of the craziest TvPs ever in Loser's Game 2, insane insane game.
GL in Ro8 to both!

Protoss and Terran... now if July/Leenock make it through and 2 more P / 2 more Terran the Ro8 will be very balanced.

Or 5 P 1 Zerg 2 Terran would be cool

It'd be interesting to see a battlecruiser switch in that situation (maxed terran with heaps of resources). Supernova did really well but his army always seemed much weaker than it should be given his huge advantage... in the TvP matchup you just max on bio, there's no real high tech units (besides a few ghosts) that you mix in to make it really dangerous. It was always a danger that genius would kill supernova's relatively weak army at some point and roll him before he could reinforce.

Terrible idea, by the time you max with BCs the Toss would have had ample time to scout the switch and prepare an ample defense, + all the extra burst and firepower of BCs is negated by feedback, which also rapes a big chunk of a BCs HP, you'd have to EMP your own BCs, in which case again you can't benefit from having Yamato.

Anyway, if someone would have told me last season, that Genius would lose a long macro game to a Terran, on Daybreak, and more specifically to Supernova, I'd have laughed in the guys face.

In TvT there have been late game BC switches which have gone completely unscouted (cf virus vs supernova today), no reason why you couldn't also catch a P off guard. Especially since the standard game is to just make bio all game, there would ordinarily be no reason to scout the terran's base. Also re: high templar, that turns into a micro battle where the terran wants to get yamatos off before he gets fedback.

Absolutely irrelevant, Virus was already ahead and containing Supernova, additionally Supernova threw away a huge chunk of his Viking fleet.
Additionally protoss has more persistent and harder to stop scouting via obs.

Edit: There is a reason why BCs and Carrier games are the exception, not the rule.

There was time hardly anyone used infestors at all, let alone zvp. After months and months struggling with roach hydra corrupter, pros finally realised they could be good (after being shown how by the likes of destiny). (And then infestors were so good vs p that blizzard nerfed the fuck out of them.) Back when they were roach hydraing i'm sure people suggested infestors, and they would have said something along the lines of "oh but the protoss can just build high templar, there's no point". Shouldn't diss a strat till it's been properly tried.

Infestors were buffed/changed from a pushdelaying support unit to the dpsbackbone of zerg to make them useful.
They were hardly used ever before the buff and for good reason.

It took months from the buff till they were used. The fungal 8 sec -> 4 sec was aaaages ago.

And it still doesn't change the fact that you need to go out of your way to get BCs, both by setting up infrastructure and just to build them, they are easy to counter, they can't use their special, they are easy to scout in this time, and they draw resources away from the rest of your army.

While infestors are in the middle of a tech path, relatively fast to get, fit into many comps and have fewer counters.

If you want a true high level game where someone tried this and was crushed, check out Keen vs Puzzle or Keen vs PartinG in GSL Code S season 1 group plays.

Your theorycrafting is useless BC's won't be used until they are buffed/changed in some form.

well if he keeps playing like today he will hit MKP and we will see, but to be fair he owned this group so hard that i feel like he might have a chance to make the Ro4 at least

No Tasteless! MVP will make it out!

But yes, I do hope one of the Julys gets out of the group.

MKP wasn't in this bracket. It was just Supernova, Virus, Naniwa, and Genius.

Of those 4, Naniwa played the best. That's all that was said.

Well Naniwa is so lucky with his free code S spot. He couldnt even get through code A a couple of times. And even now it maybe be even difficult. I really hope he doesnt win GSL. Cause he doesnt deserve it because of the invite. You should fight your way into code S. The same for all those guys who got in through MLG. They were very lucky. The easiest way to get back.

Wel gl in round of 8. Hope you win. Cause my predications never come true.

Good thing that you don't make the rules, because you don't have a clue.
GOM makes the rules, GOM makes the tournament, GOM decides who may participate.
Naniwa got in through the same ruleset as anyone else and is just as worthy as anyone else.

What?Do you seriously believe that? Naniwa would never be seeded if he wasn't a foreigner, and this is quite the contrary of "anyone else", I agree with GOM doing whatever it can to bring in the viewers, but that doesn't make it right.
So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie

stfu.

Real constructive comment to a genuine problem with giving Seeds into GSL, especially for players like Naniwa and Huk that have never qualified. Because of this, compared to MC, MMA or DRG who received seeds after they had already qualified in previous seasons, there will always be the taint of illegitimacy to their results and the feeling that they were unearned. Any argument that performing well proves that they were earned seeds goes against logic, if they were good enough in the first place then they would not need seeds to qualify. I too hope that Naniwa does not win this GSL because if a foreigner is going to win it should not be because of GOM's charity but because they qualified, worked their way up through Code A and then finally won. Take oGsTheStc as an example, if he wins this GSL it will mean so much more because he fought his way through all the stages of GSL finally to make it to Code S and win, his excitement at making it through the up and downs clearly shows how much more meaningful results are when you know that you achieved them yourself.
