Disagree entirely. Maybe recently in GSL, but last year you had Nestea, MVP and MC consistently up there (MC less so after spring). They rarely dropped out in the first round, and if they did, it was against each other (MC vs MVP in group play... why MC why -_-; ).
Look at all the other tournaments apart from GSL. The results correlate pretty much as expected - DRG/MKP doing very well in all the ones they entered, aLive doing well in IPL4 (got to Ro4 last GSL), etc. You get the odd poor day from players who drop out early (DRG, MMA), but people point to those and try to extrapolate them to an overview of SC2. It's not SC2, it's simply that players do worse sometimes.

Well, for osl, the 4 semi finalist get seeded into ro16, so you will see less big upsets

Surely at least MC or Nestea will move on, right? Aren't they in the same bracket of four?

Oh wow, if Boxer beats Line in the first round, it's MMA vs Boxer in round 2...

It won't be as emotional as Boxer vs. Oov, I think.
Although that's pretty cool

+ Show Spoiler +I was actually more excited for FvF even though the last game gave us the win and it was the ace, just because to see Fantasy decimate Flash in a straight up game after saying in his interviews he wanted to play him all season was so satisfying.
One of them will make it out of that group without a doubt, probably both.
Virus and Inca are not exactly the scariest players out there.

That is including Foreign tourneys I believe, in GSL he is at 40-50%.
Also 4 previous Code S champions down O.O What is this madness?!

Damn SKT1 fans......... In any case I will have to watch the MMA v Leenock games. I can't believe he lost a TvZ of all matchups. Go Squirtle!

*AHEM* 47.22%
Don't use International. It's full of shit players and inflated winrates.

That's less than 50% of the GSL champions (counting open season/supertournament). That's actually not THAT bad. Plus unless Virus/Inca pull of some dark (templar) magic, MC and Nestea will both advance

Yeah well, with this many strong Protosses it probably wont matter that Leenock advanced over MMA... t.t

Errr, last year, MC, MVP, and Nestea, definitely dropped out of Code S at least once, and each definitely had their own share of slumps, and all those other players you mentioned are out of Code S first round as well cept MKP; and even MKP himself had his own share of rollercoaster ride.
When your "sometimes" happens every season and to every player, then it really isn't a "sometimes" anymore is it? You can not name a single player, NOT ONE, who hasn't had his own share of these mini-slumps. As well, we constantly get players popping out of nowhere and becomes good all of a sudden. How can this be fun? You're either forced to be a heart-broken fan, or a band-wagon fan.
