The best player in the world is the strongest player in the world, or in simpler terms the best player in the world is the player who is playing the best of any player out there. Overall MKP is playing better than everyone at the moment, so he's the best player in the world. Is he a bonjwa? No. Is he more accomplished than Nestea or Mvp? No. But he's playing the best!

MKP units can't be microed to death if they die once they come out. (if he didn't have a warp prism or pylon at the end then parting could just move his army across the map) I just watched the VOD. I am pretty sure MKP would hold it after rewatching it a few times. Most of Parting army was far away at his main. Parting had no money at all and Vikings would kill his Warp Prism in seconds since he had 6 of them which I am certain where very near since they just finished. Since Parting had no money it is likely he just finished a warp in cycle. At the same time MKP was banking hundreds of minerals. Parting mostly had Stalkers near MKP base with very few Zealots. Also you can't say if any lag that MKP might have been interfering with him at that critical moment as that is the only time MKP suffered so badly. However no one can say anything unless they watched the replay.

I agree that the information we as spectators had was too limited, even though we could see the number of units they had. We can't properly asses the production cycle and position. I'm willing to trust that experienced Korean observers and players who analyzed the situation did not take such a decision lightly and may have had solid reasons. It would help a lot if they put forward a detailed press release with their analysis. No, that makes too much sense, it was obviously made in a completely unfair way to cause drama.

While also being able to sit on the Terran production buildings in the main within 5 seconds of the D/C. That game was PartinG's. GSTL Finals = Completely compromised. Except most of that was at the middle of the map, which would have allowed two production cycles for mkp, and parting had no money to warp in his own stuff.

However no one can say anything unless they watched the replay. It doesn't matter if MKP has 500000 Minerals, all Parting was going to do was sit on his production buildings in the main and its over. Stop bringing out minerals like it means something at that point, parting had lots of probes, and warp-in, and MKP was down to 3 marauders and having to depend on units from the main (which parting was about to stomp). Last time I checked, Terran can't warp-in units.

no he's comparing an example of TvP where the Terran holds the advantage for nearly the entire game, takes 1-2 bad storms, and loses.

IT'S THE HARDEST TOURNAMENT IN THE WORLD. How can one be the best, if you haven't beaten the best in consecutive series in the most prestigious tournament on the earth. Beating DRG, who has been playing like shit, does not automatically make you the "best player in the world". Omg he beat Parting, the best PvT'er in the world? He also got 2-0'd by JYP, whom some would consider the WORST PvT'er in the Korean scene. Doesn't make much sense for the best sc2 player to lose like that does it? The fact that MKP advanced from his Code S group isn't even that impressive. His wins were against Zenio, who has always been fluctuating between code s and a, and July, who hasn't performed well since his loss to MC in the finals. If MKP had been in the group with Jjakji, Taeja, and theSTC, the chances of him advancing were probably 15-20%. Until MKP wins the GSL, which every pro sc2 player takes the most seriously and prepares the most for, he is NOT eligible for "Best player in the world" Totally agree. Calling a player "best in the world" who never had win GSL title is just a joke... The GSL title is the achievement for the best of the best, you must own this title if you want be N°1 in the world.
