I take Mandarin, my friend speaks Cantonese. It doesn't sound like either if you're implying that it would sound like a Chinese word for ghost. If you're saying it sounds like the actual word for ghost then okay I don't know either term for ghost but all the learn chinese/japanese/korean audiobooks have a voice very similar to that.
