You're right.
Screw anybody else, lets just fill the competition with Koreans because thats clearly the point of this event, right?
We only require top level, world class players in any event... Everyone else should be shot, you're right.

Grow up, pull your head out of your arse and go back to 4chan where you belong, you horrible excuse for a human being.

There's a difference in giving upcoming players a chance and clearly adding a player several classes lower to an event.

He went 0-6 at Guangzhou...

Good work qouting a tournament from last year which was his first live event and was obviously nervous and new to.

It wasn't his first life event.

First international event, let's not split hairs here.

PiG has put in plenty of strong showings in team leagues and local tournaments, as well as continuing to show promise on Korea and NA. Do you really expect people from Australia to compete in European online cups just to meet your arbitrary standards when we can train on Korea and play in US tournaments (like some of the other players already in the tournament, who haven't attracted any criticism for their performances or lack thereof) ?
my hair is a wookie, your argument is invalid

OK and to put things in perspective, PiG already proved how he can't play against foreigners (as in he showed nothing at all). He went 0-6 at IEM Guangzhou in the groupstage. Lost 0-2 to all opponents. But yes, let's watch more!

Please tell me you're not really the "Assistant Editor in Chief" in Acer.

Oh please, like my opinion on who is deserving of the chance actually makes a huge difference.

It's not about your opinion: it's about your outlook on players. You should always be optimistic for newer (in this case, PiG is new, to the global scene: not to the Australian scene) to do well. What if an Acer player had played badly in their first tournament, then had the same opportunity here and people were saying "don't let him play, he played badly at <x> event". You shouldn't be so negative..

I don't agree. First off I'm not a manager I don't really get a say (other than symbolic) who gets to play in the team so it doesn't matter. Sure it's always better to be positive overall but in this case it just makes no sense. I'm a big believer in proving yourself first at a lower level before you go play in bigger better tournaments.

Want to compete with top players for 5,000 prize pool? Win some Go4SC2 Sunday Cups (the ones with prizes), or ZOTAC Cups. Show what you can do. Want to go to Korea? Win a major foreign LAN event. He deserved his trip to Guangzhou through qualifying and obviously showed nothing (getting stomped there). I'd like to see him win a few more online cups before leapfrogging players like Nerchio, MaNa, DarkForce and DDE.

I liked the bit where the Australian E-Sports scene is big enough to have these opportunities...

Believe it or not, PiG is as good as those guys on the poll, and your lack of knowledge (combined with your downright ignorant opinions) is really disrespectful.

Please show me the events that he has won with the same or similar player pool as this one will have or even with a little worse player pool. I'd be happy to be enlightened and admit I was wrong. Looking from liquipedia however the only event in comparison is a Go4SC2 cup he only placed second in. Then there's Guangzhou which really only embarsses him.

Snute placed top 16 at WCG last year.... that's pretty international. He advanced above MorroW from his group. He also played in IEM Sao Paolo and actually won a match which the same can't be said for PiG... Snute also got to the quarter-finals of The Gathering last year. Way more international experience...

Sponsored by Steelseries/Coca Cola/Mamoz ect.
Might also add that he lost to the guy that took 2nd place in WCG and won a Stage match vs F91.

Voting system is also being abused heavily. Some Aus kid has already typed in "google.com and searched for free web proxys and spamm voted"

Should be a Showmatch of a bo5-bo7 of who gets the spot. this is actully just hilarious.

Okay... I'll write this quickly to try and save you from double posting.. again.. and again..

You don't know PiG and don't want him in..
I don't know Snute..
Everyone is entitled to their opinion - don't get butt hurt when the last spot to an international tournament is given out in a popularity contest and your pick doesn't win.

Why not give PiG a chance - Snute already has had plenty of exposure.. Let PiG play imo.

Chadman is being sarcastic there (I Hope?), snute is pretty cool, but thats why this being a vote is great, because you can vote for snute, and if he plays you can see him, because you would PREFER him, and others will vote for PiG, because because he's a super chill guy, and we see lots of him, so we DO have that "emotional connection"

on another note, mki, dude, stop, plz You're only making yourself look silly.

I never said you were a manager; I said if an Acer player had the same situation, it'd be hilariously hypocritical of you, because you'd be behind them 100%. You're placing arbitrary requirements to join an invitational; an invitational which I am more than 100% sure PiG is better than some of the players involved.

You can have your opinion; that's fine. Just don't go posting in a thread belittling others for the sake of wanting to feel superior to them -- promote your players, don't attack others. It makes you look petty. (I agree that it'd be awesome for Nerchio to be in this tournament: why not focus on how good he is, rather than attacking other players credibility? This is clearly your main reason for being so aggressive towards PiG..)

The only hilarious part of this thread is how ridiculous the people who are insulting PiG. You're being petty as hell: your player isn't winning, so you attack the credibility of the other player, the tournament, etc. I agree that Snute, Nerchio, etc. are good, but like I said above, don't attack other players because you're angry they're more popular than your players. Either you should be more involved in putting your players name out there (Snute, Nerchio) or just promote that your player is involved in the voting! It's absolutely ridiculous.

Luvz is not a part of GamersLeague anymore, so please don't regard his statements as those of Gamersleague.

Edit:
However I do agree with him on the part that we should have a showmatch BO7 to decide who gets the spot.
The Norwegian community in itself isn't great enough to help swing the votes to "our" favor, and I would like nothing else than the best of the two players in question to be given the shot.

Pig is a talented player that deserves a shot. Even if he wouldn't be as good as the others why would you care? There are tons of others representing the EU/NA ladder. An entire server SEA will get the joy to watch PiG play and that's what these events are about. I would only watch this if he is playing and see how he does. Otherwise this is just any other tournament for me that brings nothing that MLG/GSL/Dreamhack etc. already do better. I really dislike the amount of rage you display for not getting your pick in. This is a popularity vote after all so clearly the organizers want a player the public would enjoy.

Now, going off your post history (which is pretty hilarious) I'd say you are a pretty big Snute fan, if not, his biggest groupie. But your ignorance and blatant disrespect for other players is actually disgusting. You are very passionate about your favourite player which I totally understand, but it does not excuse your rudeness towards others. You need to relax a bit pal.

I would totally be behind a showmatch. For those reading through the thread: this is how you structure a damn post. You don't complain about your player not being it, you add something constructive.

Most Norwegians would love to see our national hope GLSnute in as many tourneys as possible, and I totally understand why the SEA-community is voting for PiG. I had never heard of him before this vote started, but as previously stated by someone that doesn't meen he sucks, just that he hasn't been given any opportunities.

Im his BIGGEST FAN! 4sure. I hate when people that don't deserve something get it just because their the only one from "that community" that can actully play the game half decent. and someone that has worked harder then any of you would know gets screwed because of it. Happends time and time again in Esports, it just makes it insanely frustrating. i can bring up 10 other players that deserved that spot more then PiG that didnt get the shot. yet Because hes from SEA he has all these Aus kiddies that think he deserves the spot, eventho hes posted bad results consistently outside SEA before this Tournament.

Im not hating on the kid, hes obviously Good, but not good enough to get the spot (IMO)

Love when moonstars from the special olympics discuss on forums for intelligent human beings and get publicly ousted as being a retard rather than a person with a brain who deserves the additional post count putting something constructive in.

There's a difference in giving upcoming players a chance and clearly adding a player several classes lower to an event.

Might also add that he lost to the guy that took 2nd place in WCG and won a Stage match vs F91.

Just to clarify, Snute is not part of Acer. He is on GamersLeague (I believe). Just to clear that up.

And as you can tell through my support of more than just the one Acer player (Nerchio), I'm not mad that my player is losing. I'm mad that a less deserving player is winning especially when half of the poll is more deserving.

I'm honestly amazed you haven't gotten the point. If you were only wanting the best players, there's players better than Snute not getting this spot. If you want to watch the absolute best players, go watch Code S. This is a tournament based upon popularity, as shown in the poll. Please read my posts on this issue; if you want to complain, do it in a way that's constructive. Show support for your player and support for a showmatch to determine who gets the spot; don't attack the other players..

That being said: GOGO SNUTE

Nah man i totally get national pride! Its great to see such passion in eSports! But as I have said previously, the main issue I have is the hate being showed towards PiG. No-one is hating on Snute, but as soon as PiG takes the lead on the poll, it seems half the Norwegians go on the offensive and start bashing him as a player. I just don't think that is the right attitude to have.

I know Snute isn't. He's a part of GL, which I believe is Gamers League (please correct me if I'm wrong) -- like I said, your determination of what's "deserved" is pretty funny. The tournament has its own rules on invites: if you want to do it yourself, by all means, run your own tournament. You need to present things in a constructive, supportive way instead of attacking the other players. Show support for a showmatch, get people in your community behind him, etc..

Plus, I was mainly noting that your vehement dismay in the way the player is being chosen may be because you're confident that Nerchio would beat all other players in the voting system (which he very well could: his ZvZ is great).
