Well, I live near Hannover and I have never seen a room like that. It is almost hard to believe that this could possibly be in germany^^
I mean these are pictures of prison cells in germany ->

I would def sit in that room if it meant going to the IEM World Championships, lol. They should man up and stop acting like superstars, sc2 isn't that big yet.

Asking for a normal hotel isn't acting like superstars. The place they are staying it is a joke. Come on ESL, thats just embarrassing.

They should be happy they get a place from ESL at all, to be honest. I would be happy with even having a sink in the room and not having to go outside of it, all you need is a reasonably comfortable bed, a window, and something to connect any phones or similar to.
I think progamers are being a bit spoiled (not saying the viewers aren't, for example) when it comes to trivial things like this. If there was a nutrition-related problem or something it'd be ok but really no need to cause a shitstorm aimed at ESL considering they actually supplied anything at all.

And NO. IEM should not be happy that the players are there. The players should be glad they are qualified for such a high profile tournament. I find it amusing how players can complain about something trivial like this and think so highly of themselves but then are completely fine with how they are treated by teams and sponsors in other parts (I'm sure TT1 for example will understand what I mean with that.)''
Overall, its wrong in the first place to expect a place to live at. If it was something you should actually expect ofc this would be a massive scandal. But as it isn't, they should not complain.
Besides its really silly to flood a LR thread with this, if people wish to discuss it so much a new thread should be made.

But when IEM decides to provide a place to stay, they need to meet the standards that are set by every tournament.
When I see a "hotel" room that players are staying in and its worse quality than prisons, something is wrong. There is no way around it. You want players to be at their best for your tournament. No player will be at their best staying in those rooms.

When I see a "hotel" room that players are staying in and its worse quality than prisons, something is wrong. There is no way around it. You want players to be at their best for your tournament. No player will be at their best staying in those rooms. The players could have declined their offer. I sincerely doubt the availability of a paid room would make or break whether they would attend the event or not. I dont think players realized what rooms they would be staying in. If I were teams I would be finding a real hotel for my players to stay in.
