Socke is a pretty safe and solid EU Protoss who's been around for a while - could pull something out the bag, but not really scary. As soon as he's out of groups, he'll have to try and avoid both Mana and MC. Both of them would be favoured in a PvT. MMA never looks good in TvP but he still has a habit of winning anyway.

For the first time at @IntelEM we've got three "arenas" to watch the games on. The large one's for League of Legends and the final matches.

Live audience, however, was gigantic, at least at GamesCom, where I've been last year. When matches were played on the side stage, there were almost no people, because it was kinda hidden, but once SC2 got to the main stage, the whole hall was filled, all seats were occupied, etc. LoL has stream viewers than SC2, but that is mainly because of the embedded stream in the LoL launcher and the fact, that LoL is F2P.

F2P yes, but I still can't believe people are mistaking the fact that the stream was not embedded into the LoL game client. There were links in the client to the stream (pretty big ones at that) for all the major events but just having the game open did not count towards the stream viewer numbers.

ESL didn't break a sc2 viewership record, they broke an eSports event viewership record which included all games. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/pressreleases/82166/Intel_Extreme_Masters_breaks_the_alltime_record_with_247000concurrent_viewers.php The Global Challenge Kiev was broadcasted live by ESL TV, the ESL's web TV service, and reached 247,000 concurrent viewers making it thus the most successful event in the eSports history. The audience gathered in front of the screens around the world could enjoy the tournament via 13 ESL TV streams shoutcasted live in five languages (English, German, French, Russian and Polish). With the number of visitors attending live events and the number of viewers on the streams Intel Extreme Masters is now the leading international eSports league in the world. LoL is the reason for this as IEM's sc2 numbers have not been huge.

Still sad, i feel like this will hurt the SC2 viewing experience. Probably only few camera work etc... I hope we can atleast see the players sometimes. ^^ But maybe i'm just pessimistic. It's the World Championship, they shouldn't make it worse. -_-
