Still, I really really hope Ret and Naniwa get a chanse in GSL.

You might want to do a bit of research on that.

Ok, Sorry. I hope they get ANOTHER chanse in GSL.
I have no idea what Naniwas status is right now after the... incident with NesTea.
I know Ret talked about going to korea, but don't know why he haven't yet, and have no idea if he has an invite from for example MLG. Also Ret was there in the beginning of SC2, right?

So, since you say research you indicate that you have aditional information. Would you please educate the masses perhaps?

Ret
Naniwa

So my statements stand. I still think Naniwa could do well in GSL (if he got another try). And Ret was there a year ago.
Oh right, his seed was transformed in to the Blizzard Invitational stuff.
Scrap station was the best map in SC2 history!

Polt, LosriA, Bomber, Clide!!

It's unbelievable! I dunno what happened to all these players!

1. Creator is good, plus Protoss is doing well against Terran at the moment and he won the metagame war.

2. TheStC is really fucking good. No shame losing to him when ZvT is Losira's worst match-up.

3. Bomber lost because...he didn't scout. Literally, if he scouts well in the series, he wins easily.

4. Clide just hasn't looked good since that one quarterfinal against MMA where he lost in five games.

What's the foreigner situation for the next GSL?

Is Sen the only one guaranteed to be in GSL 2012 Season 2 due to surviving round 1 of Code A? On top of that, there will be 2 Code S seeds given out based on foreigner tournament results?

Sen.. the only foreigner left in the entire GSL (somehow i knew this would happen with the new format)

Sen was probably close to being the best foreigner at the time he left Fnatic. Glad to see he's still competitive even though he doesnt seem to play in that many events. I cant remember seeing him since Blizzcon besides his subpar performance at WCG

By subpar performance at WCG you mean getting 3rd place where first and 2nd place are MVP and Nestea? Yeah, SEn was simply aweful...

Imo, only Stephano, SEn, Huk can compete in GSL atm. Xigua did, however, surprise me with his play. He could've easily had that 3rd game if he contained Killer and not allow him have the third.

SEn had a great chance getting back into code S again if he have a lucky up&down group. His ZvZ is quite good so i think he has a good chance getting by next round. Too bad he has to face MVP the round after...

Sen went out in the group stages at WCG, bro.

That was old news.Sen is the only foreigner in GSL BRO.Huk does not look strong anymore ever since dropping down to Code B..IMO, Stephano and Sen are the only foreigners able to compete with the Koreans.

Foreigners really have a psychological block with GSL.. that's so sad to see them choke like that everytime .

No, they are just bad. They don't practice nearly as much as Koreans and not as well. This is the reason, don't make excuses for them. I respect koreans so much for being so good. Foreigners are just lazy.

These posts are really getting obnoxious.

Even a player who didn't practice in months wouldn't have died to a Hellion runby, these games were obviously not representative of Morrow's skill, and anyone with a modicum of knowledge and common sense is aware of this.

Argh, LR threads.

Why doesn't this happen to top korean zergs then? Because they've practiced in hundreds of times. Morrow dies to this stuff ALL the time. Every time I see him play, he gets rolled by hellions in some way. He doesnt practice enough.

cause top Korean zergs are better.. but this do happen to Koreans aswell, maybe not the very top but they aswell screw up. I wish morrow would have kept playing terran.. I think he was alot better as it. I mean, at one time pretty early on in the game Morrow was definatly one of the best european players if not one of the best outside Korea even.. and now I doubt hes top 50. Hes not even top 3 in sweden.

This happened when he shifted to zerg.

eh yeah, that was kinda my point :p

Some success against foreigners for a very short time when the game was new doesnt really mean much these days he is much better with zerg now than he ever was with terran and his TvZ is his worst matchup.

perhaps, impossible to say though.. and TvZ is his worst MU most likely cause he plays zerg alot more then terran. You cant base his proposed success as terran on the fact that he now choses terran against zerg and then has less success... if he had spent all his practice hours as zerg on terran it would have looked alot different.. but then again, we will never know since we cannot ever know =)

I just know that he had more success then and alot of the opponents on the foreign scene were the same as now.

Sen is the only foreigner left and will get a chance at Code S in the Up-and-Downs.

The two Code S seeds will go to players with good international results, regardless of race or where they are from.So if SanZenith wins Winter Arena this weekend, he has a case of being the seed. If Puma wins Assembly, he has a big case to make it as well. I think the winners of those two tournaments, if not Code S seeds already, will probably get the seeds. I don't see why anyone else would get them. Maybe Violet for IEM Sao Paolo? Maybe?

I swear bomber has lost too many times because of this, wasn't it game 3 or 4 vs Byun where he blindly went marauder tank and died to banshees from byun?

I honestly feel foreigners don't deserve any Code S seed at the moment.

That's more superstition than anything really. There's no such thing as kryptonites in real life. MMA is a higher level player now, both skillwise and mentally, he won't be mindfucked as easily.

They literally played a month and a half ago in the Blizzard Cup. Evenly matched.

To be fair though, polt won when it didn't matter, mma won when it did.

If they win one of the big tournaments coming up they will. The Sen and Idra invites had to be given around a time when there wasn't much in terms of tournaments. In the initial announcement of the seeds it always looked like the plan was to give it to players with recent tournament success

I really hope that this time no free Code A/S tickets will be donated. They should all just try to qualify. It is kinda surprising though that there seems to be such a slow progress rate in foreigner performances even though they enjoy the same training environment as Koreans. Right now it just seems to suffice to pressure any foreigner in the first ten minutes and he will crumble.

Don't think he died to banshees, but I do think I recall him going marauder/tank expecting the current mech metagame and getting rolled by marine/tank? That whole series still gives me nightmares. 2 games of mind bendingly brilliant beatdowns followed by three games of mind fuckingly frustrating failures.

biggest surprise was HuK -- who lived in two different Korean houses, but maybe all that travel all over the place? The EG curse?
and also maybe Jinro -- who has been in Korea for a while now yet doesnt seem to be moving up much.

Didn't really expect the foreigners to get through (Morrow nooooo x.x) but I'm quite happy for Hero and quite sad for Polt.

I think Jinro peaked a long time ago. He must be training incorrectly or something.

MorroW's games looked like he had a build in mind and refused to adapt to his weakened position. Going for a Mutalisk transition when you have no units, lost many drones, and know an attack is incoming was a terrible idea. He would've been better off massing Roach/Ling/Bling until Maru overextended himself.

Well I can't remember exactly I just remember him going marauder tank and dying because he didn't bother to actually check what Byun was doing.
